Today in my 1997 C5 I noticed a strange intermittent fault -- the
traction control and abs light comes on, no control over traction
control switch, revs play up cluster panel lights dimmen. My front
lights dont flip up either. Does anyone have any ideas/suggesstions of
what may be wrong here? Thanks -- Chris

Although different than yours, when I had intermittent electrical problems
it was a bad battery. You might want to have yours load tested (some
car-parts stores do this in your car for free).

Also, try pulling the error codes from the car computer. They may point you
in a specific direction.

Follow the instructions here to get the codes stored in the DIC:
http://www.c5forum.com/ayc/dtcdic.php

I'd then suggest posting the codes in www.c5forum.com or
www.corvettemechanic.com for what to do next.

1. Check the battery.
2. Check for a bad ground (typical when things get intermittent
in seemingly unrelated systems).

Took it to a corvette specialist and he checked the earth and battery
- the earth was a bit corroded, he fixed that. The problem still
persists - he checked the computer and there were no related codes to
the problem I saw. His only suggestion was to remove the aftermarket
car alarm that was put in there as these are known to cause
problems.later that day when i got home "charge system fault"appeared
on the cluster any opinions?

Think yours is a tad low for charging. About 14-14.2 would be normal
