Help! Rear window wiper motor replacement.

I could really use somebody's help. The rear wiper motor on my '92 Plymouth
Grand Voy. stopper working but I can't for the life of me figure out how to
get the darn thing off. It's connected to the wiper through the window. I've
got the back of the van all torn apart and my wife needs the van to go to
work in the morning. I hate to leave it because I'm afraid it will rattle
around break the window. I'm also not anxious to put it all back together
again. Has anyone replaced the rear wiper motor?

I've done this several times. Put the screws back iin so that the motor
assembly is secured again. You need to remove the wiper arm by lifting it
up, and prying out the latch that secures it. Once the latch is out, the arm
will stay lifted off the glass in the holding position. Actually pulling the
arm off the shaft is tough because they are usually rusted on. The way I do
it is to use 2 claw hammers and 2 thin pieces of plywood under the hammers
to protect the glass, and carefully pry off the arm. It will come off hard,
but it will come off. Once removed the rest of the job is easy. When putting
the wiper arm on the new motor shaft use anti-sieze compuound on it so it's
easier the next. And, yes, there will be a next time. Those motors are cheap
and don't last very long (it's actually the gear assembly that goes bad).
