I have an 2002 Intrepid R/T, I noticed the shift selector is getting a
little hard to move. It is an autostick. I also noticed the transmission,
when changing gears ( auto), makes a thumping noise. Especially between 1st
and 2nd gear. Does the fluid need to been changed or is there something
wrong with the transmission?
Its got about 63000 miles on it. And they are mainly hiway miles. Car has
been to 11 different states. Plus, where can you find the atf4 fluid
besides the dealer?

I'd guess there is something wrong with it. Take it back to a dealer, as
it is still under warranty.

In most any auto parts store, I would think. Certainly the Autozone
stores where I am have it.

Play it smart and get it from a Chrysler dealer or at least get Chrysler
ATF fluid. Other fluids seem to be causative factors in transmission
failures even if they meet the specs.
