rock_bustin
Hi,
Name's Andrew and I own a '97 TJ Sahara I bought new.
Rates are mighty low and I've been looking into a new one.
As near as I can tell choices are little more complicated
this time around. It seems the current Wrangler choices a

Wheel adapters ????? by
[email protected]
Good day,
FWIW, I run Spider Trax 1.25" spacers on our Jeep Liberty and have so
for the last 2 years without any problems whatsoever. I check the
torque on the additional 20 wheel/spacer nuts everytime I rotate the
tires.
BTW, our Rig has 236,700 kilometers/147,078.6 miles on the clock and
it...

99 WJ Spark plugs by
Jo Baggs[_3_]
I need to replace my spark plugs. Nothing wrong, they just have about
40,000 miles on them
Jeep says the plugs should be OEM Mopar® P/N SPRC12MCC4 (Champion 439) for
the 4.7 engine
The only Champion plug I can find is the RC12MCC4 (without the preceding
"SP")
Anyone know if this is the...

looking at a 2006 unlimited TJ by

Any advice on buying a 2006 Unlimited TJ ?
http://atkinsontoyotamadisonville.com/Madisonville-Texas/For-Sale/Used/Jeep/Wrangler/2006-Unlimited-LWB-Yellow-Car/2876553/
The only defect is a small ding in the front bumper
and fairly used back tires.
Or should I wait for a new 2012 Unlimited with...

Interesting solution, thanks for sharing.
Also xposting to the other group. Not too many regulars left
but this is worth sharing.
Another thing you can do is use some silicone tubing or simply cut a slot
down some large diameter vacuum line and let...

Saw a fairly intact CJ2A for sale in Topsfield MA a couple of days ago.
But at $2800 asking it was a bit steep, even with the Warn OD.

Quick question by
Budd Cochran[_2_]
I have an 88 Cherokee (4.0, BA10/5) and I can't find a sticker for the
correct fuel octane.
I've been using 87 octane in it but I wonder if that's correct.
Thanks!

does oil "expire" by
ps56k[_3_]
Happen to find an old unopened plastic bottle of 5W30 - was wondering if I
should use or toss ?
It has a datestamp on it from Sep 2009
Was wondering if oil ever "expires" or breaks down on the shelf ?
My son, the chemisty student, said "yeah"....

97 ZJ 5.2 belt tensioner advice needed by
J. Clarke[_2_]
This tensioner is the spring-loaded kind, not the kind where one applies
tension manually and tightens a bolt.
The serpentine belt slips on occasion. On inspection I find that the
belt tensioner doesn't move freely--I can put a wrench on it and move it
to any position and it stays there. ...

headlights - 2001 GC - pitted "inside" by
ps56k[_3_]
Happen to be reading a thread about replacing the headlamp assembly on a
2001 GC.
Ours look fine - not like the hazy ones in the TV commercials -
BTW - how does that happen ?
Anyway, ours have a different situation... some lens pitting ?
I don't think they are pitting on the outside of the clear...

No offense to the fine engineers at Jeep by

....after all they make vehicles that allow you to go offroad, but more
importantly get back on road.
But who, or what bean-counting genius thought a little rubber band
inside a plastic plug was an adequate liquid seal for a connector stuck
down on the bottom of the drive train where it...

Throttle Position Sensor and what I've learned by
DougW[_2_]
Well, Normally I say the Idle Air Passage is the culprit for a rough idle, but actually it's only one of the problem areas. Seems
the TPS can cause one helluva rough idle. Just replaced the one in my ZJ because of some rough idle and surging (downshift) on
highway when letting off the gas.
The...

Throttle Position Sensor. Code 24 for the ol beastie.
Symptoms: Hesitation when coming to a stop and sudden
downshifts (mostly on the highway) when you let off the gas.
Followed the FSM and checked the units voltage. Didn't
see any drops or "obvious" problems. But since I...

I have a 1999 Wrangler which normally runs great. I have been having
a very intermittent problem where the motors starts to run rough,

Head light Assembly for 2001 Grand Cherokee by

I am looking to replace the front head light assembly for both sides

assemblies considerably cheaper; however, I am not sure about quality
of the components.

coolant overflow tank - how it works by
ps56k[_3_]
Just doing the normal checking... with Chicago going to 100 -
and had a question about the coolant tank -
How does the coolant overflow tank work ?
I mean - what makes the liquid flow out of the radiator and into the tank,
and then - of course - what forces it back the other way ?

Head light Assembly for 2001 Grand Cherokee by
Larry[_21_]
Hazy but not too bad so I am told. I wondered about how long the polishing lasts? I am thinking about it. The dealer will do it for $100 and an other local garage wants $136. Not sure about why the price difference.
