started stalling after i drive for a while. It has never stalled when
the engine is cold. When it stalls, the engine just shuts off.
Sometimes it would start right away. but on occasions i would have to
wait for about 5 mts before i...

FWIW Jeep Hi Pro Air Intake. by
Frank_v7.0
Just bought a hi performance air intake system for my '04 TJ six. I
figured I'd mention it because it's not K&N or one of those other
aftermarket add ons. Made for Jeep labeled MoPar. My dealer says it
won't affect my warranty! I keep track of my gas mileage so I'll be able
to spot any improvement...

? on buying new TJ with employee pricing deal by
Jeff[_1_]
It seems like a good deal. The price started out as below invoice.
Plus a $500 rebate, but I caught the dealer trying to add in a
destination charge twice. Plus he told me he has to add a few other
small things. All these little "fees". One was $250 another $50. I
forget what he called them,...

yesterday, got in the Jeep to go to the office and the check engine light is

90 XJ tapping/ticking from valve cover by
Troy
When I start this thing its quiet, but after driving it around and the oil I
suspect gets warmed up there's a ticking coming from the valvecover area,
maybe under it. I can't feel the ticking but just hear it. Usually when
the oil gets hot and I notice the pressure drops while idling. I know...

Friends,
Dealer told me that if I put a lift kit on my 05 tj, then the drivetrain

Gas mileage by
ambrin
Some time ago, someone posted that they were getting good mileage by
shifting at 2000 rpm.
Well, I'm trying.... I'm shifting below 2500 rpm on my TJ 2.5L, and my last
mileage check showed 19.06mpg.
Now, if I can get the Belch Fire 9 tailgaters to leave me alone, I intend to
get to 20...

95' GC Laredo - Odd Power/Start Problem by
[email protected]
My neighbor (and friend) has a 95' Grand Cherokee Laredo that has an
odd starting problem...
He has to leave the radio on and wait for it to warm up (completely
power on) before he can crank the engine. If he attempts to start it
before the radio is fully on, the jeep fails to start and the...

Stoopid ?? for first time brake work by
ufatbastehd
I posted earlier re the T connection on the rear axle of my 91 YJ.
I'm soon to do an axle swap and have zero experience with brakes.
So I have some basic questions.
1/ For the rear, when I unbolt the line end opposite the T at the
frame does all the brake fluid pour out? I'm concerned that all...

Spring over questions by
Chuck
After going wheeling last week, I found I really do need more height and
bigger tires. My 85/91 YJ-7 has the 258 and T-5 tranny along with stock
diffs with 3" of body lift and 31-10.50 TRXUS tires, but needs more
clearance for larger tires. I have plenty of clearance with my current
tires. I...

Bill Lahr
I'm trying to fire up a '61 CJ5 that I am almost finished restoring.
Engine is from a '64 Buick Special, suspect it is the 198ci because it
has a Rochester Monojet rather than the 2bbl found on the 225. No
matter, same block, etc. I have compression, I have manifold vacuum,
rebuilt the carb, have...

Low TJ oil pressure = new oil pump? by
Ralph DL
The oil pressure gauge on my TJ is high, 40+, while the engine runs at
road speeds, but at idle the needle sometimes drops to zero, and then
climbs up to about 10 pounds. Sometimes while at idle it swings back
and forth between 0 and 10.
I disconnected the electric oil pressure sending unit and...
