146 Pollen and fuel filters by
Aitch
Hi,
Having just purchased a late 1999 146Ti I'm now doing the maintenance rounds
on the car.
Can anyone advise if pollen filters were fitted to this car and if so where
is it / how is it changed ? Also where is the fuel filter located ?
Any help greatfully appreciated

Like the look of these... by
Alan
URL may wrap
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7973729360
But are they for the facelift 156 only? Can't for the life of me see how the
rears would fit my 2001 156.
No drilling, comes with adhesive - ugh!
Anyone got any of these aftermarket chrome door sills?

Alfa in NZ by
Alan Johnstone
Any kiwis on here?
I'm moving out to Auckland next month, and am debating if I should take my
156 out with me.
I have concerns about how easy / cheap it's going to be to get spare parts.
It's bad enough in the UK when they have to order parts from Milan.
Thanks

Selling Ideas for Alfa 156 - Glasgow? by
Alan Johnstone
OK, tried the local paper, no interest. Its a T reg silver 156 1.8 basic
model, done 118K miles so a bit on the high side, advertised at a reasonable
1995. One slightly damaged bit of bodywork (door sill)
Any ideas of any specialist places I should maybe be advertising it?
Thanks for any help

OK, it's done 28K miles and there's a small parking dink on the rear panel
(to be resolved ASAP). Took it for a test drive yesterday evening.......

156 1.8 TS CF3 Engine - Exhaust Manifold help needed by
Alan Rogers
Hi All
At the last service I asked my man to sort out the manifold heatsheild,
'twas rattling. He had to remove the shield and weld a bracket back on,
when I picked it up he advised that 2 of the 3 manfold bolts were sheared -
brilliant!
However, having a look I'm not so sure. Here's how to...

EOBD Engine Management Light ##UPDATE## by
Alan Rogers
Well the EOBD light came on again after giving the MAF a clean, took getting
on for 50 miles before doing so though.
Took the plunge for a MAF from www.airmassmeters.com , £102 delivered -
arrived next day. Noticed the difference straight away, far more
responsive. Took nearly 100 miles for...

EOBD Engine Management Light by
Alan Rogers
Only a couple of weeks since I was crowing about getting 40mpg out of the
156 1.8TS, now the bloody EOBD light has come on.
Seems to be running OK, I read that if it's flashing there are more serious
problems.
I found that 2 of the 3 airbox lid bolts were sheared off, and the third
bolt hole...

Whoo Hoo! Broke thru' the 40mpg barrier in my 156 1.8TS by
Alan Rogers
Fair enough, I had to drive like I had Miss Daisy in the back.......
549.4 miles, 61.09 litres to fill 'er up
Anyone else driving more economically in these days of soaring fuel costs?
Over £70 for a tank of petrol, dear God!

Aaaargh...bloody circket ball..... by
Alan Rogers
.....I think it was, bounced off the bonnet of my 156 on the way home from
work the other day. Just above and to the left of the grille in one of the
creases - bugger! Left a dent a bit bigger than a 50p
£440 quoted by my local Fiat (ex Alfa dealership, but they still do all
servicing,...

156 - Any accessory power available.... by
Alan Rogers
....in the radio area.
Last time I had a look at replacing the radio I couldn't find any convenient
accessory 12v power. Seems to me there's only ignition or permanent 12v.
Permanent is obviously needed to retain the memory but ideally I'd like
accessory power for the radio.
At present it...

GT - JTD/JTDm by
Alan Rogers
Oh what a can of worms this is.
UKcentric post.
AIUI all Diesel 1.9 GTs are 16v M-Jet JTD, there is a later variant with the
'm' suffix (modificato, or something close) which has lower CO2 emissions
and falls into a lower VED band. Performance wise I understand both to be
150bhp although the...

Brera Courtesy Car by
Alan Rogers[_2_]
Couple of weeks ago a chap found himself down our cul-de-sac in error and
suffered a diabetes episode, while reversing out he caught (very slightly)
the front of my GT.
He appeared as drunk as a lord, however the woman (later discovered to be
his sister) explained the diabetes thing. They came...
