Safety Recall - Bonnet Closure - 156 by
hologram
Hi folks, just wondered if anyone else had received a notification from
Alfa Romeo about a recall for all 156 models to check the state of
maintenance and efficiency of the bonnet closing mechanism. Aparently
a few have opened accidently (presumably at high speed on the motorway
- ouch).

Alfa Romeo 166 V6 Cambelt Change by
Dave Sanders
Hello,
A couple of recent posts discussing service charges prompted me to think
about my next service which is coming up soon, the car is just over 3yrs old
and coming up to 48,000 miles.
My 166 has the 2.5 V6 engine and I was wondering when is the best time to
get the cambelt changed. I know...

ignition control modules by
[email protected]
have an ignition system question for someone: my 82 spider wouldn't
start the other day, after i was out for a drive. I tested the spark
and had none, so to get it home, I replaced the coil, and she started
without a problem and I drove her without a hitch for a few days. then
she failed to start...

Wisbone noise/WD40 by
Barry Bingham
Squeak time again on the 156: got the wishbones swapped on one side last
year but the other side has started and I can't get it done until the
other side of a 2000 mile touring holdiday in which the squeaking will
drive me absolutely bonkers (unless it rains for two weeks!). I've read
that the...

Swivelling boot badge on pre facelift 156 by
Brian[_2_]
Anybody got experience of replacing one of these? Mine's in a bit of
a sorry state so I'm thinking of replacing it. Is it just a case of
carefully prising the old one out and pushing a new one in or is it more
complicated than that, removing boot lid inner lining etc...?

Hands free phone kit in 156 by
hologram
Sad to say I'm waving farewell to my beloved 156 Selespeed Sportwagon
on Monday and taking delivery of a slightly less glamorous motor.
Change brought about mainly by reasons of economy and growing family
that are just not gonna fit in it anymore. :(
Anyhow, before I hand it over for the loose...

Boycott Gettysburg by
Tom[_5_]
Link to photos showing how the battlefield looked before superintendent John
Latschar raped it.

We loved Gettysburg: took dozens of week-long trips, spent many thousands of
dollars there, but those days are over thanks to park superintendent John
Latschar. He's ruining...

Alfa 156 V6 gearbox problem by
[email protected]
Hi There!
Been scouring the web in the hope for a solution. I have just purchased
a 2001 2.5L V6 Q system (automatic) alfa 156. Am having an issue. The
car seems to stay in "safe mode" when driving - that is, only 1 gear in
auto and only 2 gears in 'manual' mode.
I've brought the car to a couple...

Alfa 156 cold start by
[email protected]
Almost every morning when I start the engine it works for a second and
then stops. When I start it again it works fine. It's not that it
doesn't start at all when I turn the ignition key - it starts working
(fuel burns) for a second and stops.
What could be the cause of this?
Spark plugs are not...

Disc brakes for a 1963 Giulia spider by
Bill Smith
I'm trying to find out for a friend what the best way to go for front
discs for this car. Do we use the '65 bits, or is there an aftermarket
solution some of you folks might know about? The '65 bits don't look
all that good to me. We put a 2 liter GTV engine in it and it's brakes
are, shall we say,...

Alfa 147 - Right hand bend slipping problem by
Tom[_3_]
Hi
I have a 2001 147 2.0 T-Spark which has develpoed an annoying habit of
slipping occasionally when going round right hand bends. It doesn't have a
problem with left hand bends!
Sometimes the VDC light will start flashing until I straighten up and
sometimes it will slip as well. It always...
