Dual 1bbl carbs? by

I have a rock-stock 1600DP - SVDA dist., new case & heads, compression
is right on the money. I'm considering changing the 34PICT3 to dual
carbs. I have a set of Weber 44IDF's on my Porsche 912 motor, but I
know these are too much for a stock VW motor. (see older response to

How can you tell if a tow bar is suitable for a Ghia?
I know the Ghia bar is longer to deal with the longer nose.

what do you measure?

bleeder screw rusted? by

boy, do they like to snap off.
to prevent trouble. put a drop of easing oil at the base of each
bleeder screw. way before attempting to loosen them. I even use old
motor oil. time will let it penetrate.
works on any bolt, but avoid contact with rubber parts. OK?

I was just wondering if anybody know how to figure out the manufacture date
of tyres. I'm told you can read it on the side of it by some sort of code.
Anybody any insight?

I failed for hydrocarbons. So I turned the adjustment screw on the
flowmeter one way and it went high. So I tried turning the other way and
the reading was even higher. ( I went 3 times through inspections, after
making adjustments) What else should I check? What about the air filter ?...
