'76 CJ-7 Axle Conversion??!! by
Drink
Okay, first things first: Don't kill me for asking:)
Now... I want to do an axle conversion and need some advice on what to
swap (Dana 30 frt/AMC 20 Rr, 11" drums). I've done a lot of searching and
scrounging but can't find the right axles. A friend in a tranny shop
recommends 10/12 bolt...

'79 304 Edelbrock carb problems vs Holley carbs? by
Skyjacker
My '79 CJ-5 304 seems to have fuel related problems. It is difficult to
start when the engine is cold; it turns over fine, but takes too long for the
engine to start. Once running, it emits gassy fumes out of the exhaust side-
pipes that make your clothes smell like gasoline while the top is off....

'79 CJ 5 brake line/hose flare size by
csdude
Hi all,
I am (trying) to replace the brake hoses that go from the brake
lines to the caliper (front) and from the line to the rear axle with
extended stainless steel braided ones.
Anyway, I tried to get the flare nuts loose (of course with a flare
wrench) and had one that seemed to fit snug...

'79 CJ5 gasline question. by
Ron Croonenberg
Hi all,
it seems that if my '79 CJ5 is sitting for a while that the gas
runs through the line back to the tank.
That means that after it has been sitting for a while. I have to crank
it for a while before it starts. (if it sits for a day or so.. I have
to crank it quite a bit. If it sits there...

'79 CJ5 intake/exhaust manifold gasket by
Ron Croonenberg
Hello all,
I know that a permanent solution for intake/exhaust manifold leaks is to
go to headers. But I want to do an engine swap at some point so I want
to mess with it for a bit longer.
Is there some specific gasket, or something else, one can use/do that
works better then other things ?
I...

'79 CJ5 top radiator hose. by
Ron Croonenberg
Hello all,
Getting my CJ5 ready for the summer. The upper radiator hose is leaking
and needs to be replaced.
I built an onboard aircompressor in the Jeep, using a York aircondition
compressor as an airpump/compressor.
So basically the Jeep has the same set up as a 79 CJ% with
aircoditioning (?).

'82 cj7 exhaust question by

I have an 82 cj7 with the 258 that I need to do some exhaust work on,
but I am having problems finding parts.
I already picked up a catback kit from 4wd.com. Now looking for
everything in front of that (catalytic convertor and front pipe).
My current cat does not have the air tap on the side,...

'84 Grand Wagoneer Temp, Oil Press & Defroster by
[email protected]
Thanks again to all who have helped. I corrected the vacuum line
problem, fully restoring my defrost air and getting ALOT more volume
from both heater and defroster.
A change of thermostat in the water pump resulted in the engine
operating in the normal range of temperature on the guage, and...

'85 CJ-7 Master Cylinder by
[email protected]
I have a master cylinder from an '85 CJ-7 with manual brakes to get rid
of. If anybody's interested, you can have it for the cost of shipping
from 29696 or come pick it up. It works perfectly, though it has
surface rust from 20 years of service. I put a YJ power brake system on
the CJ, so this MC...

'85 CJ7 4cyl Rebuild by
griffin
Hey all,
I haven't posted on here in a few years since my Jeep died and I just parked
it. Anywho, I've decided to pull the engine and with the help of my dad and
Jeeping buddies, hopefully do my first successful rebuild. With the
condition of the Jeep, it probably isn't worth the time and money...

'85 CJ7 engine swap by
griffin
I've been debating selling the CJ for awhile cuz it's only a 2.5L, it's
rusty, and the engine is starting to go (it's already a rebuild). However, I
like the CJ look and I find the thing REALLY easy to work on and I'm also
learning a lot because I'm not afraid to try and do things myself since...

'85 CJ7 repair problem by
Chris Roat
Hey,
I discovered my jeep wouldn't start the other day... the battery was
dead. When I tried to jump it, it wouldn't even turn over - but I
heard a lot of clicking and there was some smoking near the starter
solenoid on the inside fender, passenger side. On closer inspection, I
found some rubber...

'86 CJ7 Shaking after ignition is turned off by
Jay
I just bought this Jeep a few weeks ago and it was running just fine.
About a week after I got it, I realized it needed a new carb as the
float was stuck in the current one. I replaced the carb with a rebuilt
one and it was running just fine again. Now, maybe two weeks later,
all of a sudden when...

'86 Jeep CJ7 - need help by
mh51867
I have a 1986 Jeep CJ7 which I recently put a rebuilt engine into.
Just today, there's a new problem that's got me stumped. The two rear
tires have a greasy oily substance that is literally sprayed all over
them (inner tires and inside the wheel wells). I've been underneath
and don't see any...

'87 Cherokee Laredo by
Kidd Andersson
I just got an '87 Cherokee Laredo. Once upon a time it was a 4wd, but
the last owner wrecked it and it's now a 2wd. I've never touched
anything internal on a watercooled vehicle so I'm pretty lost as to how
to get it back to 4wd (VW bugs are what I know, and my baja didn't come
with 4wd. :).
I'd...

The drivers side floor boards have rusted out. Is there a replacement
