ideas for a '61 beetle by
envirogisgirl
Howdy,
I've been a member on here for a year or 2, but have been a tad shy
regarding posting.
Here's the deal. I have a 1961 vw beetle. I bought it from the
original owner in 1989. In between now & then; it has been a daily,
stored in San Diego, back to being a daily while I was at TAMU. ...

OT - father/son project building a shop by
Shag
My dad came by yesterday and helped me get started on framing up a
24X30 shop I'm building in the back yard. Man, he's a hard worker! I
had trouble keeping up with him. Here's the work in progress and I'll
update the page as I get more done to the shop. Gonna be cool when
this is finished. ...

Static 32 degrees BTDC!?!? No way!!! Way? by
Shag
Just checked the engine code at the alternator stand base and
according to the code and Mr. Muir my engine should be timed at 5
degrees ATDC. I just now checked the static timing and it looks like
it's set to... oh, about 32 degrees BTDC. WTF?!? It's an
aftermarket pulley but it is keyed so I...

Locking engine mount bolt by
Anthony W
I've been looking for but can't find those locking engine mount bolts.
I've finally finished the perpetual project engine and I'm getting ready
to stuff it into my Baja bug. I don't want some one to be able to
easily steal my expensive engine, any ideas on this?

Standard vs. Super Beetle? by
John Smith
I apologize if this is a stupid question. But what are the differences
between Standar and Super Beetles? Is there an easy way to tell them
apart when looking at them?
Thanks,
John

1600 -> 1641 by
Ant
Hello,
I can remember writing about this a while ago, but thought i'd ask again as
my minds a bit naff.
I have a 1600cc AB engine (with Engle 110, 1500 g/box and 32/36 Weber dual
Choke). I've seen that you can buy a piston kit to make it 1641cc. Sounds
good as i understand that you dont need to...

Leopold Stotch[_2_]
Was at Circle Yer Wagens in Sevierville, TN this weekend. We were all
speculating on whether you'd show up. A lot of people were disappointed
that you didn't show.

sale... He's moving from the Kenora, Ontario area and is going to need
to sell it. ;-(
I've shared space on the grass at car shows with him and it's a very
good car (no rust).
Anyway, here's a link to his post on...

Slow starting 6v by
Tom Nakashima
Another question in regards to the 6v.
I have a intermittent starting problem. When I turn the key, sometimes the
two indicator lights come on, but the engine won't start, just hear a click
sound. I'll have to turn the key to the left (counterclockwise) shutting it
off and try to start it again,...

Worked on my rail some today. Replaced the winch that got busted

stuff all over them and it didn't seem to help. Allergies starting to
kick in in my old age so...

'78 Super Beetle, unidentified wires, engine stalling by
[email protected]
There are two wires next to the double relay in the rear luggage
compartment of my '78 Super beetle. Both of the wires are female spade
connections. They are both white and of similar length to the white
wires that go into the engine compartment side of the double relay. I
have not been able to...
