Turbo Jeep! by Bobby M
OK, here we go...... I have a 97 TJ that is a 'streetster'. I'm looking to stick a turbo under the hood of my 97 TJ 2.5L. Yes, a 2.5L 4 banger! The only parts I need to purchase are the turbo and inter- cooler. All else I plan to fabricate. I just want to see how far I can take this motor...

seized camshaft, replacement engine cost? by jeepfreak
Lost power Wrangler 2000 4l in-line 6 cyl. and got it towed. One owner (me) 148,000 miles. Garage thought at first it was timing chain problem. Got into the engine and turns out cam shaft seized up. That means a new motor. Anyone have any ideas on why that would happen. No oil pressure problems or...

Deep water/fluid changing question by 56
I will be going off road for the first time soon. I was told by someone that after you go through water deep enough to come up to (and over) the floor board you should change your fluids. He referenced the differentials. I am doing the routine oil change this weekend using full synthetic for the...

leaf spring rub by nrs
On one of the rear leaf springs ('95 YJ), the military wrap leaf rotated enough so that it is just touching the spring hanger. I put grease on it to try to minimize the friction there. Is this something I should fix by re-aligning the leaves or just not worry about? Thanks

T-5 tranny by Rod's SHAW
Has anyone else in here endured that inevitable leak from the front countershaft bearing case, manifesting itself over time. Has anyone discovered any 'fixes' which avoid gutting the box and re_pressing ?? Anyone know of any compounds which work better than the recommended Loctite ??

I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have a leak somewhere in the rear, right hand side of the floorboard, either underneath the right seat itself, OR in the floor in front of the rear seat. In other words, it is either leaking underneath the seat itself and migrating to the floor in front...

CJ 5 roll bar height by [email protected]
Hey Everyone, A friend got a CJ 5 that's rather solid, working out small mechanical bugs. We've been scratching our heads about the roll bar. It seems higher than most we've seen. He bought the Jeep from a body shop, they did a lot of work on the body, so who knows what may or may not have been...

46RE NSS socket size by SBlackfoot
I just picked up a '98 GCL 5.9L and surprise! My reverse lights don't work. I've narrowed it down to the neutral safety switch on the tranny (jumping the two outside pins on the harness side lights the lamps). Two questions: What size socket do I need to pull it out? My axle nut sockets are too...

Heres the deal, I broke a transmission line ( among other things ) on a run last weekend. Needless to say, almost all of the fluid got pumped out. What I would like to know is, which line is the return line going into the radiator, drivers side or passenger? I asked the stealership parts guy, of...

Cat Converter Shield by help-slip-franklin
'94 YJ. I replaced my muffler and tail pipe this past weekend, what a miserable job that was! In the process the shield on the cat converter came off, both top and bottom. Am I now in jeopardy of burning up the carpet due to the heat? Thanks H-S-F
