Bestop hinged roof rack, 1995 YJ, used for canoe hauling by Earle Horton[_28_]
Binaries posted to alt.binaries.pictures.autos.4x4. I am installing a Bestop hinged roof rack, with universal sliding rack mount, on my 1995 YJ. I am primarily going to use it in the immediate future for hauling a canoe around, so I haven't installed the sliders or baskets yet. I did put two...

rear wheel end shake '96 zj by maleemi[_2_]
I replaced the rear brake pads on my 1996 Zj laredo 6cyl (140k miles) yesterday. I noticed that both rear wheels have a bit of "end shake" if I grab the wheel (while the rear is on jackstands)and pull and push it moves in and out a bit, somewhere between 1/16" and 1/8". There is no up and down...

johdinvärit valaistuskytkennässä by Joni Kärkkäinen

Guages all dead - '98 XJ by 98XJ
Yesrerday, during a local drive, The speedo, tach., ammeter, water temp. guage, oil pressure guage, and the fuel guage all flat-lined. The odometer and dask lights still work. I have gone through the fuse block and the box of relays & fuses under the hood and all are OK. I've read online (at...

Locking Gas Cap - no key by griffin[_3_]
So I had spare keys made for my Jeep but never thought to get one made for the gas cap. Long and depressing story cut short, my keys are sitting at the bottom of an elevator shaft and can't be reached until around Aug 5-6. My Jeep is sitting at a 1/4 tank - in other words, I have about 20km of...

Hello Group I always seem to have dificulty with Dealerships when it comes to oil changes. On the oil dip stick it clearly says "Do not overfill" Yet they (dealership) overfilled it by about 1/2 inch. (The engine has been sitting, not running at least 4 hours) What are your thoughts on this? Can...

i have an 88 yj with a 4.2 and manual trans. i recently ran into ignition problems. The car died on the road and would not turn back on. Turning the key does not make any clicking or turning sounds at all. I smelled burning and saw smoke between the battery and engine. On the relay that the...

OT. trailer lights by Greg[_1_]
Not even a bit jeep related, but I may pull it with my jeep at some point, so close. I bought a Jayco tent trailer, new about a month ago, pulling with 06 F150, factory wiring. All lights work, but when I turn on headlights, one trailer light gets double bright like brake is on. ???

Timing issue? by GGinn
Well I am at wits end. 95 YJ, 4.0, manual. Will start and idle. After a short time, idle gets ruff. Try and drive it, forget it. Stalls. Has intake backfire. While running, accelerating does nothing. Replaced the fuel filter and map sensor. At the begining of June, went wheeling and hit some deep...

Water in jeep by [email protected]
Hhat do you guys think the best way to stop water from collecting under the pedals and on the passenger's side where their feet go? I've thought about drilling a hole or two on both sides and sealing up the edges so it doesn't corrode, but I haven't done so yet because I don't know that its the...
