This group is ruined by
[email protected]
Man, haven't been here awhile due to the constant BS. This use to be
the best place for Jeep questions.
Don't you have a life? Give it a rest Man! Your vendetta against one
guy has destroyed a place many Folks use to use for Jeep info. Move on
and do something constructive with your life.

Wrangler Incentives by
Usenet User
Wrangler sales down over 30% and still no real incentives. Amazing, that
they don't want to try and move more wranglers at a little less profit.

A/C runs for a while then stops cooling. I think I've heard this is
core freezing or something to that effect?
Is this something I can fix on my own?

Tub Cracking, repair options? by
brianc
92 YJ.
There is cracking where the bolts for the drivers seat pass through
the tub directly under the seat riser. I'm no welder, but even I know
that if one could wirefeed the tub without melting holes in such thin
sheet metal, it would simply stress crack right next to the welds over
time. ...

WJ: Swap from NV247 to NP242? by
The Reverend Natural Light
Howdy.
My '99 WJ Grand Cherokee, 4.7L Quadra Trak II NV247, won't drive its
front wheels in 4HI. I found an NP242 from a '94 XJ Cherokee. Will
it fit?
I'd rather have part time 4wd than spend the time fixing the full time
unit.
Were there ever disconnect style front axles for WJs? Is there an

electric problem please help by
88yj
I have an 88 yj with a 4.2. Recently my battery slid forward and the
metal bracket that was supposed to keep it in place bumped the
positive side of the battery. It hit right on the terminal and now it
is melted a little bit and deformed. Now all my electric components
are acting up. At times...

Poor Jeep Wrangler Sales by
Usenet User
I was just looking at the June sales figures for the Jeep Wrangler. Down
39% from the previous year. Yet Chrysler is offering no rebates except
$500 to armed forces personnel and $400 in marketing support to dealers.
So I chatted with a good friend of mine who is a sales manager at a
family...

'99 TJ Lift Kit to get 35"? by
griffin[_3_]
I've got a '99 TJ Sport 4L with a 2" spacer lift and 32" tires. I want to
upgrade to 35" and get some added clearance. What's my best route and what
brand of kit is the best bang without spending too much?
I was considering the $1000 Skyjacker 4" that comes with the lowering
t-case, etc...

Timing issue? by
GGinn
Well I am at wits end. 95 YJ, 4.0, manual. Will start and idle. After
a short time, idle gets ruff. Try and drive it, forget it. Stalls. Has
intake backfire. While running, accelerating does nothing. Replaced
the fuel filter and map sensor. At the begining of June, went wheeling
and hit some deep...

Fault code question. by
GGinn
Why would I get an fault code of 33 on my YJ when I don't have air
conditioning? Apparently code 33 is an open ciruit on the A/C clutch
relay. My Jeep does not have air. Puzzled.

Air cleaner question (Omix Carb) by
BSartist
My 1989 Wrangler has what appears to be an Omix carb on it (little
rectangular air breather).
The local inspection station (upstate New York) told me that he would
not pass it for inspection without the stock air cleaner with a "tac
door" or some such. Even though I do not have to pass the...

UConnect and Hands-Free Options for Patriot by
[email protected]
I have a 2008 Jeep Patriot without the UConnect hands-free telephone
system. On July 1, California requires cell use in cars to be hands-
free and I am exploring options. Can UConnect be retrofitted? Are
there similar third-party systems? Any comments or suggestions on
these two solutions or any...
