buying a TDI by
michael
I am in the market for a Jetta TDI... and have a couple of possibilities
can anyone direct me to a website that shows the colour of an 02 Jetta TDi,
the dealer says the colour is a blueish green, or a greyish/green
I'm thinking a lighter green than the Forest/Hunter....but can't fit that
colour...

Door Locks? by
bushmaster
The door locks on my 94 Jetta have stopped working from the D/S with the
key.
If I lock the doors with the key, only the D/S door locks and the unit in
the trunk keeps making noise!
Is this an electrical motor that is not working right or is there something
common that goes wrong with these cars?

04 Passat battery drain? by
D&LBusch
I have an 04 Passat. I usually leave the keys in the ignition when I park
it in the garage. Lately the battery drains and requires a jump (twice in
the last week). Does leaving the key in the ignition cause a batery drain
due to something else running that I am unaware of? Thanks in advance...

Long term Passat issues? by
D&LBusch
I'm at that funny stage when I'm considering trading my 2004 1.8 Passat.
44,000 miles 5 speed. I may buy a Hybrid. What are the long term costs of
keep the Passat? I've read that repairs as they age can be annoying and
expensive.
Thanks in advance.

Seeking tips for torqueing 12mm head bolts (1.6 diesel) by
Whole Lotta Tom
I have read the procedure for tightening the 12mm stretch to yield head
bolts in the Haynes and Bentley manuals. Both give a base torque, the
instruct that an additional turn of 180 be given to the bolts. Man, I could
manage a 90, but not 180. I'm used to head bolt torques of 105-120 on US
V8s,...

2006 passat turbo diesel wagon with manual by
Lynn
Why cant I buy a 2006 passat turbo diesel wagon with a
5 speed manual in the USA (Texas) ? Why is VW such a
stupid company ? I drove one of these all over Europe a
couple of years ago (with the 1.9L) and loved it ! Got
35 mpg at 120 mph on the autobahn.

2000 Jetta GL - Coolant Leak by
Mister.Lull
Hello All,
As the subject line says, I have a 2000 Jetta GL - apparently with a
coolant leak. It's not a bad one, I've had the coolant level low
alert come on twice and both times I put some purified water in (about
1 pint) and it didn't come back for about a month and a half. The
problem, of...

Thanks!

Glow Plugs by

What are the symptoms of a blown glow plug in a TDI engine? (1999.5 Golf
TDI, 1.9L 90Hp) - Should I see the glow plug light coming on while driving,
or flashing? (does neither)
My glowing period in these really cold winter days is getting to be (seems
like) close to 20 seconds, and I leave the car...

020 Transmission Gear Ratios by
doogie
I am driving a 1992 Diesel Golf and have often wondered why my fuel
consumption is worse than the 1985 I drove previously (~10%). It
finally dawned on me that it must be in the tranmission gear ratios. I
compared the transmission codes and found that they are different.
However, the information...

Alarm Fob Programming, 1994 VW Golf 1.8 Driver by
Pete_Reid
Hi to all
I've been having problems with the remote control alarm/immobiliser fob
on my 1994 VW Golf 1.8 Driver. The alarm/immobiliser is the factory
fitted one that came as an extra on the mk 3s.
I have found a new fob on ebay and was wondering how to reprogramme it
