silly timing question (how-to) by
Jo Bo
If it's standard shift there's a plastic cap on the top of the bell housing.
The there's marks on the flywheel and a pointer. You may need to unscrew the
outer plastic part to see the pointer.

Oil pressure problem by
Bill Leary
The car is a 1987 16 valve Scirocco.
When the engine gets up to operating temperature, and it's run between 2200
and 2800 RPM the oil pressure warning activates. Get it above 2800, it
shuts up. If it falls below 2800, it activates again. Gun it, to get it
above 2800, then shift so it's...

symptoms of a VW Jetta daylights come on in the off position switch by
Debbie[_2_]
A week ago I had a new cylinder lock with a read coil switch replaced in my
Jetta GLS 2001. Since then, my battery has been dying. I put in a new battery
and had the alternator tested and a draw test. All of that checked fine, but
the battery keeps dying. The other day I noticed that my daylights...

Octane fuel to use for a 92 Passat CL by
Tavish Muldoon
Hello!
I have a used 92 Passat CL with no drivers manual anymore. The fuel
opening area say 87 Octane is fine, but premium fuel is preferred.
I assume there must be some knock sensor to detect grades of fuel?
Is there any benefit to using premiun (91,92,93 or 94) octane vs. 87
in this model of...

barry[_1_]
Hi,
This is probably not related to VW jettas specifically, but I'll ask
anyway because it is happening in my 2001 jetta TDI. When I am
breaking sometimes at high speed it as if the breaks aren't catch. I
slow down, but gradually. At low speads the breaks catch very well
and stop the car.

My Mind's Made Up: by
ChrisCoaster
Within the next 6 months, I'll be courting several VW dealerships to
locate me an example from the tail-end of the last generation of
Jetta.
That's right - a '03-05 of the generation before the current. No
electric steering assist, and one of the best handling ratings of any
compact car up to...

95 Jetta Waterleak by
Dave[_69_]
I have a 95 Jetta. It accumulates rain water behind the driver's seat. I'm
guessing that this may be due to a plugged up drain for the sunroof. What's
the best way to clean it out?
Thanks, Dave
