Opinions on the 147 please by R C Nesbit
SWMBO, as a part of the belt-tightening is planning to sell her beloved MX5 and buying an Alfa 147. Cash is an issue, and there are a few nice looking examples on Autotrader and Ebay at around the £1200-£1300 mark. So is there anything specific to look for on these other than the...

petrol / LPG by GT[_14_]
This post is the same question that I just asked in uk.rec.driving. After converting a petrol engine to LPG, can the car still use petrol as a backup, or is it LPG only? Anyone converted an Alfa? 2.0JTS specifically. GT

New motor.... by TonyB
Got the 156 today, chuffed to bits with it. It's been serviced but the service indicator has not been re-set. Does anyone know how to do that? Otherwise it's fine, I found £1 and 5p together with a box of Tictacs and some sweets and girly bits behind the rear seat. Just need to figure out the...

motor control system failure by jima
Disaster? On journey down to south west, light came on with message as title. Engine runs with slight hesitation but continued for 75 miles without mishap. What could it be? I've had a turbo pipe blow before.....seems different. Oh yeah it's a 1.9 JTD. Cheers. Jim

156 pollen filter by simon bothwell
I recently removed the pollen filter from my '99 2.0 TS, it didn't have a cover over the housing and now water is pouring in after any amount of rain! Should it have had some form of cover, if so I will make one of sorts. Any ideas?

Happy 100th Birthday Alfa Romeo by JLA
From AW ***** It hasn't been sold in the United States for the better part of two decades. Its last Grand Prix victory was in the early 1950s. The reliability of some of its cars can be charitably defined as iffy. But it has a history second to none. Today, Italian automaker Alfa Romeo celebrates...

Alfa Romeo planning NEW Giulietta Sprint Coupe by JLA
From AB Connoisseurs of historic Alfa Romeos – which seem to be coming out of the woodwork now that the firm is celebrating its 100th anniversary – will recall that the original Giulietta came in a number of variants. A hatchback like the reincarnated model wasn't one of them, however. The first...

Alfa CEO sets 500,00 Car Goal.... by JLA
From LL **** Despite teetering around 100,000 global sales last year, Alfa Romeo’s CEO says that he intends for the heritage-laced Italian brand to sell 500,000 cars annually by 2014. “In the past you have heard several times Alfa promising such growth figures, but this time we have the right...

Can Olive wait for the beep? by GT[_14_]
2002 156 2.0JTS + oil levels: We all know that Alfas use oil. When my oil starts to get low I can hear a difference in the engine noise and in the past I have always topped up the oil immediately. Only once in 8 years has the computer's oil low message beeped at me. I stopped within 200 yards...

Radio Code by Dave Savage[_3_]
Slightly OT, but here goes : my son has lost the radio code for his Ford KA. If you lose the radio code, is it reasonable for a dealer to charge £30 to obtain it for you ? I would have thought it's a quick query on a computerised database - £5 to charity would be a fair charge. Dave S... 156...
