Brake calipers anyone? by
Ben & Claire[_1_]
After suffering a slight overheat on my nearside front caliper, the RAC guy
who came out managed to twist the piston in the bore and it is now seized
beyond use / repair.
Has anyone got a nearside caliper solid disc etc for a 1981 camper?
This truck is also my daily driver and I really dont...

So it's been a decade... by
Lauren Bailey
Just wanted to drop in and say hi... I know a few of you are still out
there from a long time ago. I checked and it's been right at 10 years
since I used RAMVA, so thought I was long overdue for a hello!

Sometimes Fate smiles by
Mike Rocket J. Squirrel Elliott
.. . . and sometimes she doesn't.
In this case, she was in a good mood.
Re-charged the old e-can with new activated charcoal, re-mounted it with
new hoses. No problem, I now have the Wonderbus back to its original
1971 CA emissions setup. Hardly a job worth bragging about, but for me,
anything...

Why we do this...because our cars make peope happy. by
Mike C.
If you don't own a thirty year old plus automobile it's sort of hard
understanding how much a pain in the ass it is to keep it running,
especially if you're not a rich dude who can plunk down money to get an old
car restored like it ain't no thing. I bought my car ten years ago about and
put a new...

turning over at all. battery is showing 13.4 volts, lights go on, but no
cranking at all. red light is on, but not the green/yellow one. i have a

"hypothetical" question by
Shag
Suppose you have an air-cooled VW engine with transmission attached to
it and the half-shafts are in place and the wheels are attached and no
fluids have been drained... Now you have this combination sitting on
the floor of your garage but it's taking up a little more room than
you'd like it to. ...

axel removal w/o impact wrench by
Animal
I'm trying to get the axle nut off of my '73 Bug (IRS) without the help
of an impact gun. I've used Muir's idea of a breaker bar with a 1" x 3'
pipe cheater, but have only manged to torque off the socket nub on two bars.
I've poured Liquid Wrench on the nut, I've heated it up with a torch,
I've...

Pitting in bumper chrome by
[email protected]
The bumpers of my 62' beetle are pitted and rough in places. I don't
want to spend the $ to re-chrome. Does anyone know of a way to smooth
the pits and 'fill in' with something shiny that looks decent?

Herbie !! by
Susan S.
Today was just too fun !! Although the weather almost didn't cooperate, we
had a fantastic turn out for the arrival of Herbie. Rough guess, about 50
VW's of all types lined up for a huge caravan into Pensacola complete with
police escort. It was a real treat for everyone to see Herbie and...

Pasture finds by
Randy
Spotted a couple of bugs out in 2 different pastures this past week or
so.
Look to me a 74 and the other is a late 66, maybe 67. Pretty sad
shape from
what I can tell but I'll bet they are "show winners".
I'll have to track down the owners and find out the scoop, etc.

tunnel to pan connection by
Remco
Hi all
Just got a 72 regular beetle and am evaluating what needs to be done.
It will need floors, heater channels and one of the door post bottoms
will need to be reconstructed. The engine/tranny is in very good shape.
Along the tunnel a lip exists that one normally welds the floor pans
to.
On...
