Because I was tired of looking at the trash and not knowing a way to
get it picked up, I vented on the Full Moon Bus club site and was told
to talk to the Adopt the Highway so I give them the credit and sign
for the miles of road side I...

Midnight Repairs by
David Gravereaux
He came down the back drive just before midnight on Christmas Eve. I was
out in the shop, about to call it a night when I heard the unmistakable
sound of a Volkswagen running on three cylinders. Bad valve.
It was an early model high-roof delivery van. Bright red with white
trim. He pulled up...

Brake lights by
Busdriver
Hello,
The Brake lights on my '70 Bus (daily driver 70mi/day) work, but only if I
depress the pedal pretty hard.
I replaced the front pads in May and bled the system at the same time.
Have readjusted all brakepads almost two months ago. The pedal feels nice
and firm, no pumping required. The...

Feedback needed-New types of T1 Engine cases. by
69' Dune Buggy
What's the status on the Aluminum T1 engine cases? Are they better
than the Mag. engine cases? I'm going to build a new engine and I'm
trying to figure the case situation out.
I see where Scat has a Killer Case, CB has an aluminum case and I see
others as well. Aircooled.net said in a tech...

Update from Speedy by
Speedy Jim[_2_]
Thanks all for your sincere concerns.
I don't think you'll find such warmth on many other newsgroups
and it is appreciated.
I had a AAA (aorta) open repair about 7 weeks ago.
I saw the surgeon the other day for a follow-up and
he was very pleased with the progress and rate of recovery.
I've been...

Sermons of Bob Hoover by
[email protected]
It seems, as I search this newsgroup, that the Sermons of Bob Hoover is
jumping out of every corner. Maybe it is because everything that I am
searching for, he had at one time covered with detailed debate. I have
found from readings, that he is a cult like image to some. Then their
are the people...

VW Cruise Control Aircooled part ZVW 201 701 by
Vdub144
Please don't harrass me with the "brick on the pedal" thing. This isn't
that.
I picked up a circa 1970s (packing list dated 72, owners manual dated
76) ccCool Volkswagen Products Corp., Fort Worth Texas made "cruise
control" for 70-74 VW NIB. Under the ccCool logo, it says "a Division
of VPC" and...

QUESTION: Dash Lights by
[email protected]
Does 'next to the speedometer' mean at the bottom of the speedometer
or next to it?
It might be the oil pressure light or the gernerator/alternator
warning light.
Get a Robert Haynes manual for your model and look it up.
There is a chance someone put a green light diffuser on the bulb which
makes...

Brake upgrade by
Anthony W
Now that I have a larger and more powerful engine in my 66 Baja, the
brakes are not up to the job any more.
I'd like to keep the wide 5 pattern but the cost of a wide 5 disk brake
conversion is more than I want to spend. Is there any way to use old
type 2 front brakes on a bug?
If all else...

Painting a VW, please help a naive person: by
Mike
For sometime now, I have been tempted to rattle can my VW. I do not
have a compressor, but I have the desire to get a good, but cheap paint
job complete. Any ways, I was wondering if anyone could walk me
through the paces on painting a car?
I imagine it goes something like this: sand the paint...

Ignition coil. by
Tony Wilkinson
Hi, I have just bought a new 12volt coil and when I came to fit it, it
struck me that the paint might interfere with the current flow on the HT
circuit.
Do I need to remove some of the paint under the clamp? Or is the HT high
enough to jump through the paint?
Cheers,
Tony.
