Changing P/S, A/C belt on '93 Mazda Protege'? by
coldje
I'm trying to change the belts on a 1993 Mazda Protege' LX with the
1.8L DOHC engine. It has P/S and A/C. The first belt to remove is the
one that goes around the P/S, A/C and crankshaft pulley. I've loosened
the two locknuts (one on the Adjuster and one on the P/S pump). I've
also loosened the...

Gasket Maker Question by
ramseybuckeye
I am replacing an O Ring on a Honda engine oil cooler and with Permatex
Sensor-Safe High-Temp RTV Silicone Gasket (red). The TDS for the
product states 24 hour cure. I assume I need to wait 24 hours, or will
it acually seal faster?

'88 Prelude AC Clutch/Compressor Noise by
[email protected]
Greetings,
My father-in-law's '88 Honda Prelude gradually lost it's AC
refridgerant charge such that the compressor would no longer engage. I
recovered the remaining R12 (actually had this done at a shop) and
evacuated the system). The vacuum held for several hours so I began
recharging.
The...

Pneumatic Shocks for a Russian UAZ Simbir by
[email protected]
Hi all,
I own a Russian SUV, a consumer version based on their military jeep
series. It has a ton of unsprung weight (solid axles front and back
built pretty heavy). The Russian's use oil-based shocks on their cars
for the most part, this vehicle included.
The large amount of unsprung weight...

In 3 days - 2 cracked windshields by
Brian S. Paskin
Hi, On Wednesday of last week my windshield was fine. I drove the car
to work. At lunch time I found a crack from near the base of the
drivers side all the way to the middle of the windshield. I figured I
missed of hit something on the drive in and since it was hot the crack
just got worse.

Rust holes by

I have a '99 Pontiac Grand Prix SE. I went away to school for the
winter and my parents drove my car while i was gone. They don't take
good care of it because when i got home i found two small holes, one on
either rocker panel. I have had rust before and used a rust converter
and repainted the...

Ford Explorer Brakes Slow responding by
ed[_1_]
I have a 2001 Ford Explorer Sporttrak where when we push the brake pedal
down it acts almost like it wants to go into anitlock pulsing but then
finally starts to grab and stop the vehicle. This is enough delay to scare
the hell out of us not thinking this thing is going to stop. The fluid...

Another power window problem by
mc
1996 Olds Ciera. Driver's side front power window has been used several
times a day for over 8 years. It has "auto," meaning that it finishes
rolling all the way down after you let go of the button.
Lately, on hot days, I've had a problem with intermittent operation. If
allowed to "rest" a...

Toyota Seatbelt Question by
M.M.
We just inherited the MIL's 1990 Toyota Corolla DX. It's in very nice
condition but I have a question about the seatbelts. They seem OK but
they don't seem to lock up. I can't get them to lock by pulling quickly
on them nor do they lock up in a quick stop like the belts in my other
cars. Should...

Whining sound when RPM needle moves up? by
[email protected]
Hello,
My '98 Mustang suddenly has a problem. As I accelerate, it makes a
whining sound that starts quietly and intensifies along with the RPMs,
until it shifts into second (it's automatic transmission), and then it
starts over again, i.e. the whining always matches the RPM speed. By
the time it's...
