Oil changes by
Shawn
I own an 2007 Saturn Aura XR with about 59,000 miles. I've had the
car since July of last year and so far I've put on about 23,000
miles. I drive on average of about 950 miles per week. I've only had
the oil changed twice in the nearly 6 months that I've owned it. Both
times that I've had it...

Passed by Saturn of White Plains (NY) today. The familiar Saturn logo was
replaced by a temporary 'Buick GMC' sign.
Last year, on the other side of town, Sholz Buick, a long time presence
here, went belly-up.
On another note, in a nearby town, Harrison NY...

I ride a 1997 SL SOHC, 185.000 Km, standard transmission.
Oil is changed every 3500 Km, I use Castrol Synthetic 5W30, and K&N
oil filter.
I know; some of you might believe it is a waste of money; but I am a
FIRM believer of preventive maintenance.
I am VERY satisfied with this car.
Question:

1996 SL2 and Brown Sediment in Coolant by
Father Mike[_2_]
I have about 145,000 km on this boat. I took it in for routine work and
Canadian Tire pulled me aside and said I had a leaking head gasket and to
prove it they showed me flakes of brown sediment which allegedly came from
my cooling system. The cost to repair would be around $1800.
Naturally, I...

somebody[_2_]
We have a 1998 SL2 with 105K miles. Recently it started hesitating
when stepping on the gas pedal quickly. When idling it wants to
stall. When moving along and stepping on the pedal it stutters for a
moment.

2007 VUE New Tires by
[email protected]
I had to be very careful where I took my '99 SW2 for tire replacement
because some tire dealers used too much torque on the wheel nuts and
could damage the brake disks.
Do the '07 VUEs have the same problem?
Thanks in advance,
Howard

1996 SL ENGINE RACING PROBLEM by
Buzz[_2_]
My '96 SL single cam has 185K on the clock, and has been running fine.
A few weeks ago I changed the oil and hosed off the motor with a
garden hose. Then the "Service Engine" light came on, but it was
running fine. A few days later it went off, and my buddy at work
hooked up his code readed and...

lw300 belt tensioner by
Oppie[_9_]
Was noticing over the last few weeks that the 3L engine in my '01 lw300 was
getting noisy when started in cold weather. One day it was particularly
noisy and I investigated. Got over 150K on the car and water pump/timing
belt were replaced last year. To my great relief, the noise was a failing...

Saturn Headlights by
lil abner
We have an 07 Saturn Ion.
The high beams are lower than the low beams on our other vehicles.
Low beams are ridiculous.
I've repeatedly asked Saturn to readjust them.
They say they can't. Other times they say they have adjusted them.
We feel like we are taking a risk driving at night.
How do you...

Oil Additive to Stop Leak? Lucas Or 10W40? Head gasket issue by
lbbss
I have a slow leak in my saturn 2002 sl1 (80,000miles). The mechanic
thinks it is likely the head gasket. I get about a 1 or 2 inch
diameter oil leak on my driveway every day. Any product that you
could recommend? I the Lucas oil stabilizer any good? Or would
putting a heavier oil like...

Was the proposed sale to Penske just a charade to boost sales of

Sure seemed like a Costanza operation to me.

RIP by
[email protected]
I just heard the news... it got me to thinking, my very first internet
search was for "Saturn" (My second search: Saturn -planet). I had a
photo of my '94 SC1 on the "Saturn Server", subscribed to the
listserv, followed the newsgroup, laughed at the "Ellen" spoof.
Farewell, Saturn.
