GTI Hose Replacement by
Kent
Question to all you folks out there with very elderly VWs like mine: what do
you do when the molded hoses in the intake system start to go south? I
disassembled my intake system today and found that many of the hoses that
connect the idle stabilizer valve to the throttle body have small cracks...

OBD I ( not OBD II) codes question by
Ron /Champ 6
on the 95 GLX's, with OBD I, will any code cause the check engine
light to come on? Or only emissions related codes? I think OBD II is
different, and lights up with any codes stored. Right?
I suspect my secondary coolant pump is not working, I believe it
should code on the OBD I, but don't have a...

In Dash CD player not working-2000 Jetta GLX by
Martin Hirsch
Hi
My indash cd player, installed when car was new no longer plays. It ejects
cds. Switching function to rear changer works.
Is there any aftermarket repair facilities or does this item have to be
repaired by VW. Any other tips or suggestions would also be appreciated.
Thanks, Martin

89 Jetta with no lap belts ? by
Chris Etzel
Hey all,
I've got an 89 Wolfsburg Jetta with the 3-point belts in the rear seats, but
only a shoulder harness that goes from the inside edge of the seat to the
door (and is required to be latched to start the car). I've thoroughly
looked and can't see where the lapbelts have been removed or were...

Proper Air Pressure for 1995 Jetta 14" wheels.. by
Timothy J. Richter
Hey-
I have a 95 Jetta III with 6Jx14" ET45 still rims (base model).
I have 195/60/R14 tires all around and was wondering what the
factory spec for PSI was....
The owners manual says there should be a sticker on the drivers
door jam, but there is only one sticker and it lists gross vehicle...

98 passat atf by
peter
Hi,
I need to change my passat's auto transmission oil, went to the dealer
and found it was a ridicules $24. dollars a litre. I'm tempted to buy
mobile 1 synthetic oil and go with that, has anyone had good or bad
experiences on that?
Thanks,
Peter

2005.5 Models by
MB
Anyone know anything about the new models coming out next year? Our sales
guy just said the standard will have 135 HP, and that there will be a Jetta
convertible. He talked of them coming out Feb-March, at least perhaps some
of them.

2002 Jetta GLS by
MB
I own a 1999 Jetta GLS with a VR6, new model. I love the car, but I had
$3,000 worth of part replacements in the first 3.5 years (not including
maintenance). My husband's CRX got stolen the other day, and a friend who is
a sales manager at a dealer has a 2002 Jetta GLS with leather, Monsoon...

Beetle life in Europe? by
Steve Grauman
What was the last year of the air-cooled Beetle in Europe? I understand that it
lasted a few years longer there than it did here. And which version(s) were
avaliable at the end? If memory serves me, only the "Super Beetle" cabriolet
was avaliable in the U.S. during the last year or 2 of it's life...

Cruise Control by
Johannes Parchman
I have a '97 Jetta GL, auto, with 122K miles, and discovered recently
that the cruise control didn't seem to be working. I'm not a big user
of the feature, but it was nice to have around. The thing just didn't
engage when I employed the toggle on the turn signal. I was wondering
if this is a...

VR6 fuel leak when cold ? by
jcb
Hello all
My dad has this problem with his VR6 (golf 3), whenever the car is started
from cold fuel will leak from the fuel pump area. What's funny is the fact
that this only happens when the car is cold. Also the fuel only leaks when
the car is running, ie when the fuel pump is working (still...

94 Golf III GL 2.0 Seat Belts by
Shoaib
Hello,
I have a VW Golf III GL with a 2.0L motor. I dont have airbags and the
seatbelts are those door mounted ones.
The problem that I am seeing with the front (chest) belt (the one that
hooks to the door area) is that they dont lock up if pulled on
suddenly. I think its not the normal behavior...

Monsoon Stereo - No Power by
Superfly
2002 Passat GLS. The Monsoon stereo is has no power. If I remember
correctly, the fuse is on the back of the unit. I checked the main
panel, there is nothing there for it.
Is there any way for a civilian to get at that fuse, or am I looking
at another trip to the dealership (they are backed up...
