Roll bar for Track Day by
G. Mack
I wanted to attend open track days and driving schools at some local
tracks, but they require a roll bar to be installed. I was looking at
the Hard Dog bars, and the Deuce looks the nicest, but is it allowed
on the track? The Ace and Hard Core seem like they're design for more
serious...

grinning like an idiot and and scratching my head by
zenmartini
I've been driving between Tampa and New Jersey every 2 weeks for the
past 2 months and as you can imagine
my life has been a bit scattered.
I love the drive because I love the car. I owned a mint condition 85
RX7 for a few years before it became a casualty of my divorce and I
never thought another...

engine noise in radio by
Marc Gerges
Dear all --
Since my Miata's back from the dealer, I can hear the engine in the
radio.
I presume they were fiddling at the ignition, because the transmission
belt has been changed. Before I head back to the dealer - is there a
straight forward source of error that I might check myself?
Car is a...

Boot Installation by
Tom[_15_]
So, I just bought my first Miata. Really like it. 9 days old - about
550 miles. Gas mileage is wonderful and the car handles like a
dream. Couple of questions for the gurus he
1) Last (original) owner obviously never used the boot. It was in a
bag and is perfect. So I installed it, as it...

Alignment question by
Peter A Kaufman
Hi
I mostly lurk here, but just bought new Toyo T1R's for my 2001. What would
be the best compromise. Alignment with no weight in car, with my weight in
drivers seat, or some weight in both seats, or does it really matter that
much. This is just for street driving.
Thanks
Peter

Can rotating the tires extend their life by 20%? by
[email protected]
So I'm looking at BFG G-Force Sports for my next set of tires.
Ordering online + installation charges would be a hair over $400
total, if I did all four tires at the same time.
Or, the local Discount Tire can do it for $467 including free
rotations for the life of the tires.
You see where I'm...

Painting blower? Exposed cam gears by
peter
HI,
Since I have the drive train out and I can never keep it as clean as I
would like, I was considering painting some engine componets. any
pros/cons about painting the blower? I know that white would be best,
but I am sorta partial to aluminium :).
Also, recently I saw a pic of a miata with...

Trip and hmmmmm...... by
XS11E[_1_]
Went from Phoenix to San Marcos, California last weekend for my
sister's birthday, drove over Thursday and came home Sunday.
Weird Weather:
Two years ago I did the same trip, had the top down, wore fairly heavy
jacket and was a bit chilly at times. Passing through Indio it was
warm but I...

iPod Integration Module? by

Has anyone tried the iPod Integration Module. It's available from
Rosenthal Mozda?

It appears to be a kit that allows connection of the iPod but this
website gives little detail. Where does the iPod sit when...

Miata air scoop by
altar nospam
I just installed the scoop that directs air down to the feet when it's
hot. That's bothered me ever since we bought the Miata. 95 degrees
outside and my feet are cooking down there. It apparantly works like
it says it's supposed to. I'm tickled with it. I have no affiliation
whatsoever with the...

Door won't open: Solution by
Dransfield
I had these symptoms:
Door won't open, and then interior handle just doesn't feel like its doing
anything.
You may notice that the outside handle (which also won't open the door) is
slow 'return'.
Also the interior lock slider doesn't operate as nicely as the other door.
Opening the door:
It...

Which Brake Pads by
Scott Streeter[_1_]
Just looking for an inexpensive set of pads for my 2000. Moss Motors
has Standard replacement pads in Genuine Mazda Parts and
"aftermarket". The aftermarket are significantly cheaper. Anyone try
these? Also they have Mintex pads which are only slighty more. I was
leaning toward them since I can...

1995 Mazada Miata Oil Leak by
[email protected]
I recently had the oil pan seal replaced. Within ten day the real
seal on the transmission started to leak. The mechanic told me this
is normal due to the increase in pressure caused by replacing the oil
pan seal. I have asked two other mechanics and they agree with the
origional answer. There...

Headlight/Foglight trouble question by
zenmartini
A few weeks ago my fog lights stopped working. Yesterday while driving
from Tampa to NJ, just my left lowbeam failed. I replaced the bulb and
that didn't do it. I don't have a shop manual and I've only had my
2000 Miata a short time. Is it possible that the headlight issue is
the headlight relay?...

Profile and tire pressure by
Carbon
I was driving to work a while ago and noticed the car was pulling to the
right. As it turned out, the right front tire was flat and had a running
crack all around the sidewall. I don't know if the tire was low for a
while or whether I had run over something that morning. But with the 40
series...
