Bug master cylinder: Residual Pressure Valves? by
Well, the brakes went soft on the 'ol 69 bug, and a puddle appeared under
the master cylinder, so it was time for a new one. Went to the FLAPS and
got a new German FTE/FAG M/C. It looked quite similar to the original (yes,
it was the 35 year old original, complete with a blob of body...

Any other ideas for not too expensive upgrades for type 2 1968 please? by
Hi all,
Sorry I should have been more explicit.
It's a 1968 Kombi chassis no: 238173978. Dormabile top.
Except for the valve train (Bolt up shafts and scat 1.25 rockers and Swivel adjusters)
bought with new heads, the whole bus is stock.
I'm only interested in the three S's areas at the moment. 1....

A Post picture needed! by
I'm glad you found what you needed. I know what you are talking about the
not posting your e-mail...... I don't either. I thought you might benefit
from pics of my bus with the windshield and dash removed, it's basically
gutted for rust repair under the window seal.
What a coincidence so...

Hi all,
Question:
Why does nobody make a new back plate for 68 bays?
Question 2:
If someone does, where and how much?

Hi everyone,

They said: Requires tapping a new hole if used on 72-83 aircooled Bus/Van.
Did anyone did this before? Where exactly do I have to tap the new hole?
I saw on the web that...

Front torsion bar removal by
Not sure it is a good idea removing an entire front torsion bar. I have a
beck spyder and removed the four "smaller bars" from the upper torsion
housing because of the weight of the spyder. I did find that I had to use
the adjustment nuts to reset the height i wanted. I also would be
interested...

Beck Spyder, 1914cc, 40mm IDF's. Runs strong, HOWEVER, after I shut it down
and pull it into the garage I have fuel leakage from both carbs. I cannot
isolate it exactly but it accumulates under the "V" in the

Look if you want too get angry with someone that's fine. All I wanted was some
help from a fellow air-cooled enthusiast not an argument about whether it is safe to
give out personal information in open news groups.
I work in the IT industry and I know what I know.
Ask Joey he'll tell you. IT'S NOT...
