Could it be my starter? by
[email protected]
I thought I was having problems with my battery draining and I followed
my "how to keep your beetle alive forever" book and my problem is now
leading me to the starter. Here's the situation:
-the car will only start if I jump it. This is why I thought it was
the battery but..
-the lights are in...

Oil pressure relief valves by
Anthony W
After rebuilding the engine and getting the old Baja back on the road,
the oil pressure doesn't seem to be what it should. It's running about
20 pounds at 55mph and no more than 30 when wound up in the lower gears
(at full operating temp. I used the original relief valves and springs
so I'm...

Looking for good tech in or near Boston or NH. Just someone who knows

seen a aircooled, nevermind worked on one. I took my Thing to a shop for

Battery draws down when my car stands for a few days by
vgonman
Folks,
I have a 74 standard Beetle, and when I go out of town for a week or so
and do not daily drive my beetle, the battery is dead. It is a good
battery, I have had it checked. There must be a short, but there is
nothing glaring at me....I often wonder if the short may be in the
alternator...

Drive a VW bus to South America? by
Franco
Hi,
I've been dreaming for a long time about driving a vehicle from USA to
South America (I'm from Argentina). I wanted to ask three questions:
1) Do you know of any books, travel logs, etc. about this trip? The
only book I know of is "Road Fever". I know that many people have done
this before,...

Houdsie

Bay Q light ? by
Juper Wort
Any of you over there have opening bay door quarter lights that haven't
rusted through, and want to send them to UK ?
Moving all my door bits over to the new (to me) door, and mine just turned
into brown mush. I now have a nice triangular hole.....

'72 Ghia Fuel Problem by
Michael Provost
Hello all. Hmm, Ghia was running great and just died. Symptoms were like
out of gas. Still not starting so I tested fuel pump. The pump was not
working so I replaced it and all the fuel lines/filter. I cranked it and
nothing. The VW spec for the pushrod was 13mm or 1/2". I measured 1/8"...

Is this awful of me? Trying to decide on a paint scheme... by
Michelle
For those of you who don't remember me from my (at best) sporadic
posting, I have a '62 Beetle Convertible which I am doing a pan off
restoration to. I bought her in early 2000, and she and her many parts
have followed me to a new home after a divorce. I've been replacing
the parts I lost, and I...

To All:
Ten years ago this July a group of VW bus owners drove to Inuvik, 200
kilometers north of the Arctic Circle. Recently, several people have
contacted me asking for information about the trip. To keep from
repeating myself I've opened a Group on Yahoo titled Inuvikkers and
have posted my...

Replacing flywheel pins w/o engine dimantling by
Mel P.
I need to replace my flywheel. The pin holes on the crank and the flywheel
are oval.
Can I fixed this w/o disassembling the engine?
If I need a need flywheel , I'll spend the money. But I don't want to take
apart the engine right know.
Are there repair kits available?
