Vent window rubber seals by
Papa
I have a 1988 VW (Rabbit) Cabriolet Convertible with swiveling (not fixed)
vent windows. I need a pair (LH and RH) of vent window black rubber seals in
good condition. My vent window glass is bolted to the vent frame, not glued.
If anyone has a pair to sell, please let me know. Thanks.

2001 GTI headlight change... again by
[email protected]
I saw a thread from a year ago about this, but it didn't have the
details I need. The low-beam bulb on the driver's side of this GTI VR6
burned out. I removed the plastic cover behind the headlight (right in
front of the hood release cable). I can see the big metal clip that
holds the entire back...

My 84 Vanagon backfires by
rodd
Last summer while was driving on the high mountain roads of southeastern
British Columbia when the temperature would approach about 40 celsius at the
height of the day. At about this time the engine (1.9l with fuel injection)
would start backfiring about once every 10 to 15 minutes then it would...

Darryl
I was just speaking with a dude at the parts counter at VW who gave up
the brake line lengths: 535, 1290, 2350 and 2440 mm for front ds, ps,
rear ds, ps respectively. He also told me 4.75 x 0.7 but didn't know
what it meant. 4.75 mm ID and 0.7 mm wall? Anyone know size of the
brake line...

adding an equalizer to a passat by
Rich
Hi all,
I have a 2002 Passat with the Monsoon sound system. It is definately
loud with plenty of bass but the highs need some work.
Has anyone added an equalizer to your Passat? If so, what brand and
model? I HATE to do it but the shrill sound of the highs just kills it
for me.

GM just leased a fuel cell vehicle to the Army by
Papa
OT I know, but maybe others in this forum are interested. In the morning
newspaper is a report about a just-leased pickup truck from GM to the US
Army. It is a fuel cell powered Silverado. While it's total lack of
contaminants into the atmosphere (just water vapor) is good, it's
performance is...

'03 GLI Summer Tire Recommendations? by
lazar, z
Blew out three of the original stock Michelins earlier this winter, and
decided to replace with winter tires and deal with the expense of replacing
the michelins with 4 brand new summer only tires after the snow season left
us. The Michelins are so expensive, and now I have a dedicated set...

Lack of ASR and EDL on TDI by
Astro
enough abbreviations for you?
Can anybody comment on not having ASR and EDL on the Jetta/Golf TDI's?
It's kind of disappointing as those seem like very desirable features.
I got the ESP, which, based on the literature, is something of a
superset of the ASR and EDL capabilities so it seems like...

1995 VW Jetta Factory Alarm Problems by
XXninjatooXX
I have 2 '95 Jettas and one had the same problem. It was a combination
of 2 bad door switches and a faulty alarm module. Module is an order
item from dealer, ran about a buck-seventy (170.00). Man its worth it
when every time you open the door to get in the damn alarm starts
going off! I liked it...

'95 Jetta has an electrical problem? by
XXninjatooXX
Man, my IP started doing that a couple months ago. There are sensors
that transmit to the instrument cluster or speed/tach etc... The
manual should show which fuses/relays to check first. Then obviously
the sensors/switches themselves. And one I always enjoy - busting out
the ol' voltmeter and...
