Just wreckec my wifes 93 Cabriolet by
jbrianchamberlin
I can't believe I did this. It was parked in the driveway and I
backed into the front of it with our 2001 Toyota Highlander. The
bumper on the truck met the Cabriolet in the hood and grill. It busted
the head lights and smashed in the front of the body a little. She's
so ****ed at me. The...

92 Cabriolet front wheel bearing by
Mike
Hello -
Went to purchase a replacement wheel bearing and asked for the grease
seals and the guy at AutoZone told me they are "built" into the
bearing assembly?? Has anyone else run into this? Are new grease
seals not needed when replacing the old bearing with a newer bearing
that's now been...

Accurate Tire Pressure by
Tavish Muldoon
Anyone know of something that will inflate my tires all to the same
tire pressure.
The gas station air pumps put out a lot of air and I never get all my
tires at the same pressure - they are usually differ by 1 or 2 psi.
Some gas stations use to have dial air pumps you put in the psi you
want and...

BioDiesel question - Toronto area by
Amit Joneja
Hi:
Has anyone tried the BioDiesel from the Utopia retail location in Unionville
(Hwy 7 and Kennedy Rd., Greater Toronto Area)? Does this diesel variety gel
in low temperatures? Or is it ok if a diesel fuel conditioner like Stanadyne
is added to it to prevent gelling? Should I use just regular...

97 Jetta GT rear brake caliper bracket bolts stripping by
Chad Leigh
Hi
Yesterday I successfully replaced the rear brake disc and pads on the
driver side rear wheel on my 97 Jetta GT. I had to go to Sears and
Checker Auto 2x each to get various tools, a halogen light as it got
dark, and other things :-) but it was successful. I used both the
Bentley and Haynes...

2 Door Golf TDI by
Mr.Eddy
Hello All,
I was just browsing through eBay and saw a '99 2 door Golf TDI. Didn't know
they made a 2 door TDI. It seems now that I can only get the Golf TDI in a 4
door. Haven't checked at the dealer, but the online configuator at vw.com
only lists 4 door bodies for the TDI.
Was '99 the only year...

2000 Passat instrument cluster electrical short + smoke! by
Martin Mainfeld
Hi, all,
I've got a 2000 Passat 4-motion with just 31k miles. On a recent road
trip, while going about 70MPH on the highway, something in the dashboard
shorted, and I was greeted with a nice puff of smoke in the face!
Needless to say, this scared the crap out of me. I pulled over, and
noticed...

About to take my '00 Passat wagon (GLX V6) in for the big 80k service.
The maint. schedule says "timing belt - check condition" at 80k and
"timing belt - replace" at 105k. Dealer "suggests replacing early",
sight unseen.
The car's only major repair to date has been a radiator replacement.

Golf III service indicator by

Hi,
Can somebody please tell me how to reset the service indicator in a Golf
III, 1995 (4 cylinder).
There should be steps to reset for OEL, IN 1 and IN 2. I think it can be
done with the little set buttons for the trip odometer and/or the clock set
buttons, but I am not sure about the...
