Infiniti Q45 oil pan removal procedure by
Miki
The first step in the service manual says: "Remove engine."
You may not have to remove it, you could probably jack it up. You
would likely have to lift it until it's against the firewall, because
the pan needs quite a few inches of drop-down before it'll clear the
crank counterweights.

98 Camry wiper switch/motor problem by
[email protected]
The wiper switch's intermittent mode does not work. It now only works
with 2 speeds - fast and faster. Annoying in light rain.
My mechanic says he may need to replace either the wiper switch or
motor (cost is $164 and 210 for part alone)
Another option is to get a second-hand part from a...

cracked head on Geo Tracker? by
HamNCheese
My fiancee has a 1994 Geo Tracker which burst a heater hose and
overheated, losing most of its water. After repairing the hose the
car ran fine for a week or so, but then started spewing white smoke
from the tailpipe. Figuring a blown head gasket we performed a
compression test, and first off...

2001 suburban check engine soon light by
[email protected]
I just turned 100k on my 2001 Suburban. In the morning, the engine runs
pretty rough but with smooth out after it warms up.
When it did this first, my CHECK ENGINE SOON light would flash but turn
off after it warms up. But later, the light just stayed and would not
go off.
I took to the dealer...

Aftermarket exhaust pipes? by
[email protected]
Hello -
Can anyone recommend a source for an aftermarket exhaust pipe for a
Toyota Camry (1990)? I need to have the whole pipe replaced, but want
to know if I can get a cheap pipe and have it installed.
Thanks,

1999 Chrysler T&C Output Speed Sensor by
IPavlov
Hi,
Output speed sensor on my 1999 Chrysler Town & Country
minivan failed. I'm thinking of replacing this part
myself.
Can anybody recommend what would be the best place to
buy it? Is NAPA auto-parts store a good idea?
Thanks,
IP.

OT - Dallas police cars by
[email protected]
I don't know if any of you have been following this.
Dallas uses Craown Vic police cars. Several have been rear-ended at high speeds
and the gas tanks exploded, killing the officer. Dallas sues Ford for "defective
design". Ford puts Dallas on "No sale" status (Why should we continue to sell
you...

97 ford escort, weak rear brakes by
imnoldee
I changed the front pads and rear shoes of my 97 escort. I noticed the
rear brakes are weak. With the vehicle raised, I could turn the wheels
by hand with the brakes on. On ice, I couldn't lock up the rear wheels.
Unfortunately I didn't check this before I replaced the shoes.
This car has a...

WARNING! No Dip Stick by
James
I change my engine oil (Mobil 1) every 3,000 miles. I change the
transmission fluid and filter every other engine oil change, every 6,000
miles. Since I am already under the car doing an engine oil change it not
that much more work to drop the transmission oil pan. My son-in-law asked
me if I...

Stupid strut cars by
Tim Kett
Why do so many car manufacturers make cars that require struts these days ?
Shocks are about 15 to 20 times cheaper to install.
And who needs $1000.00 airbags, when seat belts work just fine ?
Newfangled, easily crunchable JUNK !

89 Suburban Catalitic Converter Help.. by
John
Hi..
A suggestion from this board said to look at the catalitic converter causing
low power in my Suburban.
The cat was clogged up and I bought a new one.
I know this is a dumb question for the techs but the old one will not come
off.
It's loose after taking off the clamp but will not slide off the...

Last year I purchased a portable battery charging device to keep in my

air in the tire (which saved my life several times already). The

internal resistor in coil question by
RB
In the old, conventional distributor/breaker point systems, how does the
internal coil resistor let full voltage go through for starting, and then
drop it down for running? Is it a temperature driven thing (i.e., as the
resistor warms up, the resistance drops)?
And how does it work with the...
