Lumpy running 156 jtd by
R C Nesbit
Yesterday the 156 1.9jtd started running 'lumpy', like
pulsing power drop-surge-drop-surge.
Following S.O.P. I floored the bugger, and the nice
welcoming orange picture of an engine came on! ;^(
Pulled up, switched off, went into shop, bought bread &
milk, came out, stared car, orange light...

Alfa Romeo "internal" numbers by
ALFA LFA
Hello.
Where can I find a list of Alfa Romeo's "internal", that is, development
numbers, such as 1750 (105), 156 (932) and MiTo (955).
I'm looking for the numbers for 147, 159, new Giulietta and 2012 Giulia and
possibly 166 (936) replacement.
Thank you.

156 JTD, just had the brakes bled, much better but there's some free play in
the pedal before the brakes bite.
Is there any way of adjusting he pedal at all?
Thanks

chocks away by
GT[_14_]
So the wife parked my 156 on the drive yesterday after an Asda run. Like a
true gentleman, I gave her a hand to carry in the shopping from the boot and
we went inside. 10 minutes later, a man knocked on the door and didn't say
anything, just pointed out into the street where my car had come to...

Alfa parts by
R C Nesbit
Where can you get them from, prefereably on line, without
having to deal with ****wits?
The air intake hose has a split on the 156 1.9jtd.
The hose which comes from the airbox in the front o/s
wing and into the top side of the engine.
Last time I ordered one over the phone for the bottom...

Cold Starting 1.9JTD by
R C Nesbit
The 156 has been a nightmare for the past month or more,
with a ritual of parking nose in under the car port for the
night with the battery charger plugged in, and using a heat
gun over the fuel lines and into the air intake, still
taking at least 5 or 6 attempts to get it to fire.
The past 2...

Thermostat by
GT[_14_]
I completely forgot to ask them to change the thermostat at my last service.
The temp gauge sits around or below 70 and should be at 90. In the recent
cold weather, it has hardly gone over 65 and it takes about 20 minutes
before proper hot air comes through to the cabin. Its always been low, but...

Starting in the cold by
R C Nesbit
The 159 doesn't.
It is usually reverse parked on the drive (slopes down from
the road) and for a few weeks now it has taken 2 or 3
attempts to fire, but since last weekend it has been
refusing to start except with jump leads (embarrassingly
from my Son's SO P-reg Escort diesel van)
Once...
