See there's this Thing.... by
Jan Andersson[_4_]
For a while now, I have spotted a yellow Thing parked outside a house on
my way home, maybe 5 miles from my house. It looks to be in somewhat sad
shape, missing one headlight and looks like the RR tire may be shredded
to pieces. It has not moved, and I don't think it has been touched all...

So it's been a decade... by
Lauren Bailey
Just wanted to drop in and say hi... I know a few of you are still out
there from a long time ago. I checked and it's been right at 10 years
since I used RAMVA, so thought I was long overdue for a hello!

Braking on a '71 by
[email protected]
Hi all-
You've helped me with some strange stuff in the past, hopefully you can provide some insight as to what's going on with my '71 supervert...
Recently, the brakes have developed an issue where every other time I push the pedal, it goes right to the floor, as if I'm low on fluid or there's...

Jan - Hi! it's Chris in Miami.
Perhaps you remember me - I lent you my car when you were here.
I'm back, and note the absence of most of the ramvac
participants.
Hope all's well.

Chinese 009 Q. by
Mocker
I know, I should have known that you get what you pay for.
but, It is causing hard starting. like it doesn't retard the spark when
hot. I took it apart and on the counter-weighted advance things it has
a spring on each weight. while every old German 009 has only one spring.
and the old ones the...

My neighborhood mechanic got a '65 bug. by
georgwk
It's all original. sat for awhile. I wonder if he'll sell it.
If you're ever in Fieldbrook ,CA. it's just sittin' outside well under a
car cover. I just am not interested. maybe you can make him an offer he
can't refuse. It's still 6 volt. 40 horse.

Trick for swollen inner brake hoses by
Viet Vet
those flexible rubber hoses that run to the wheel, swell up inside and
tho the brakes may go on, they don't release.
How to tell, the brakes get hot!
my trick is to saw them off at the rubber /metal end. and use a deep
socket wrench to loosen them. works like a charm. esp. at the junction
block...

VW Trikes by
Phoghat
I am a VW and motorcycle enthusiast and have just had a LAK amputation.
Prior to that I was thinking of building a VW engined trike but now I don't know if that's possible in my condition.
I know some VWs (and Porsche) were made with auto/semi-auto tranny, but don't know if they would hold up with...

Restoring a 71 Vert by
esowash
Hello new friends-
I'm restoring a 1971 Super Vert, and I'm having some engine trouble.
Hoping you find citizens will be able to provide some insight.
I've set the points and the timing...but when the engine warms, he
won't idle. If I manually choke the engine (by closing the butterfly)
he'll...
