VR6 water pump by
Ron
after 136,000 miles, my '95 Passat decided to croak it's water
pump...The belt and tensioner were replaced at 100,000 miles
(tensioner died and ruined the belt), so with only 36 K on them I'd
like to re-use them, unless I am being too cheap...
I'll replace the AC compressor, finally, while I am...

Steering wheel is off center? by
Suanne Lippman
Had a small accident today; another car hit my Golf in the side, bending the
rear passenger door up pretty bad, but that's about all.
I will be taking it in to be repaired, but for the moment...
It seems to drive, steer and brake normally; except that the steering wheel
is off about 15 degrees. I...

I have a 1984 VW Rabbit GTI. When I make a hard right turn the engine sputters and sometimes dies. It acts like it is starving for gas. It does not happen when I turn left. I have also noticed that it gets worse as the fuel tank get lower on fuel. Has anyone experienced this problem, and might know...

160k miles. Black, with gray interior. Recaros are in good shape.
Body is in pretty decent shape. Runs pretty good, but does have a fast
idle on occasion. It is the 16V 1.8L and 5 speed. Has been a very
dependable car, but is now an extra. I would like to get $650, but
negotiable. I also...

83 Rabbit Steering Column Repair by
Howard
The steering column on our 83 Diesel Rabbit started making a loud knocking
sound. I noticed that a bearing had slid out of the bottom of the steering
column tube, along with some pieces of plastic that I assume were either
part of the bearing or a bearing retainer. I could push the bearing...

TDC mark not on flywheel where expected by
[email protected]
A while ago I put a new clutch in my '82 NA 1.6L diesel VW Rabbit. Is
it possible I put the flywheel back on wrong? Now that I'm doing the
timing belt, I've hit a problem. I have the oil pan off so I can see
when the #1 piston is at TDC according to the crank, but there is a
mark on the flywheel...

Excuse the terrible photo (why is the sticker so sharp?) but I think you can

tighten them, and they are loose again in a couple days.
I would like...
