Rubber or plastic thing that goes round tailgate lock on T25? by
Danny[_3_]
Hello,
Some lovely person has broken into my campervan (Type 25 1985
Watercooled) by smashing the lock on the tailgate. I have replaced
the whole lock but I have found that there is a gap of about 4-5mm
around the lock and the bodywork. I am guessing that there used to be
some kind of round...

Darkrose
Recently, I've started having problems with my CD
changer--periodically, when I change disks, it beeps and gives me a CD
ERR message, and won't play. Has anyone else seen this? Is there
anything I can do short of replacing the whole thing?
Thanks !

2003 Passat wiper blade change confusion by
Darren Dunham
I've got a 2003 Passat with the "curvy" wipers. There appears to be a
flexible carrier, two end caps, and a blade.
How do I get the end caps off to replace the blade? If there's a clip,
I can't find it. I've pried around a bit with a tiny screwdriver, but I
don't want to do something that...

sluggishness and cruise control problems by
Darren Dunham
I took my 2003 Passat in for "engine light" service a few weeks ago.
They apparantly replaced one of the ignition coils. Ran great until
this past week.
Then not only did it suddenly develop bouts of "sluggishness" (poor
accelleration, rougher idle), the cruise control doesn't work.
While I wait...

Thought I was done with VW with the passing of my '89 but I'm back.
I'm looking at a '95 Golf that's been sitting for over a
year--battery's dead and when I try to boost the car, the car alarm
kicks in. The owners don't know how to defeat it. Don't know if it's
a factory setup. Suggestions...

Hi everyone,
I have a well-worn 92 Jetta with a 1.8L RV engine. The car starts fine
and for the first ten minutes or so works flawlessly. Once everything
heats up however I am getting erratic misfiring on all cylinders. It
doesn't seem to matter where the throttle is or how much load is

weird fuel starvation problem - 1989 Jetta by
datatechnic
I'm not a guru, but if your car is a plain 1.8 liter 8 valve gas engine with Digifant II ignition (not a Jetta GLI, or diesel), I have a suggestion:
- Open the air filter housing and take out the air filter.
- Does the air filter smell strongly like gas? Is it falling apart in your hands?
- If so,...

Firewall Ground Wires by
datatechnic
Hello,
My car is a 1990 VW Jetta with Digifant II ignition. It has three ground wires connected to a bolt on the engine side of the firewall. One of these wires stems from a wiring branch routed above the bolt; the other two ground wires are connected to the engine valve cover.
I find it strange...
