Dave[_29_]
Since this group has become plagued with disease, Where do you guys/
gals post now? It was always great how friendly and helpful everyone
here was.
It's a damned shame to see what has become of it. I can't believe that
there's no way to trace back what ISP that crap is coming from.. Is
there no...

Easiest cheapest way to change to 4.11:1 by
FDC
A while back I ask here about changing the differential gear ratio in my
2002 TJ, 4.0 (had installed a 4" lift and 33" tires, need to change gear
ratio)
It has been a while since messed with this , got married in there somewhere,
and also lost the thread. Anyway I do remember that basically...

Come along, jerk strap, and tire chains by
[email protected]
I currently do not have a 4WD but have front wheel
drive car instead. I want to sell the car and get a 2WD
vehicle such as van.
However.... I am a bit concerned abt going back to rear
wheel drive in a van.
I was thinking..... if a person carried a kit of say a
set of easy on/off tire chains, a 12...

I'll be heading out at the end of the month from Seattle, WA to Richmond,
VA. I've got a stop in Idaho, Reno, Vegas, the Grand Canyon, and of course,
Kate's place! Anyhow, I'll probably be traveling alone in my 99 'vert
Mustang. I had a friend that was planning on coming, be he cannot afford...

Flywheel removal by
Carl Saiyed
Got the trans pulled out of my 89 YJ, now trying to remove the flywheel for
surfacing. It doesn't show any signs of being burned, grooved, rutted, or
pitted, however it is shiny. Does it need to be surfaced?
Six 3/4" bolts hold the flywheel on, and the flywheel just cranks the engine
over when I...

Installing engine oil temperature gauge - TJ by
TW
Hi All,
I want to install an engine oil temperature gauge on my '01 TJ without
having to drill a hole in the oil pan. What is the easiest way of doing
this. One of the local shops here suggested perhaps putting a tee on the
oil pressure hole on the block and see if it works. I thought I should...

CJ7 frame dimensions? by
Charles[_8_]
Does anyone have a spec sheet on the CJ7 frames? I have a 1984 wide track
frame if that makes a difference.
I have been donated a frame and axles that I would like to use but I need to
verify that it isn't racked or bent or out of square in anyway before I
invest a lot of time in the...

CJ5 misfires at high RPM/hard acceleration by
[email protected]
Gentlemen,
I'm having some problems tracking this down. When I accelerate hard
or get up to a certain RPM (about 3000) at cruising, I get popping
coming out of my exhaust & a huge lack in power. The engine has never
stalled, but I can't go any faster in that gear due to the misfiring.
I've done...

My comment about AOL e-mail by
d
In a recent post from Bill, he remarked about my hotmail address. I in
turn said something about his having an AOL account. It came across as
I was belittling people who use AOL for being novices. Bill claims to
be so very internet savvy, so I was, in a way, comparing the two.
I apologize to...

novice question on getting a stuck vehicle out by
Jeff Strickland
When you have a choice, it is always best to pull with your vehicle in a
forward gear. That is, pull in Drive instead of Reverse. The gears in the
diff are cut in a manner to make them stronger going forward than backward,
you need to leverage this design consideration instead of ignore it.
When...

4 inch suspension nitpicking by
Troy
The lift on my tj right now came with 1 inch transfer case drop spacers, and
only replaced the lower control arms for the front and back. I had the SYE
kit added and a pair of adjustable upper rear control arms added so I could
get rid of the spacers and adjust my pinion angle. It has a cv...

Baby on the Way - Jeep has to go? by
Brad Fuqua
So, my wife is pregnant. Now, I'm facing the terrible situation of
possibly having to let my 97 TJ Sahara be put up for sale. My wife
hates driving the TJ and I'm not sure I feel comfortable having the
baby in there either. So, what to do? Any advice from people who've
made it through with...

Bring back the Brat or modernize the Wrangler by
Carl Taylor
This is a request for Subaru, Jeep, Toyota, etc. to produce something
like the old Subaru Brat, which was essentially a 4WD car with low
range gearing. With today's engine technology it could get gas mileage
in the low to mid 30s on the highway, while having true off-road
capability.
Today's...
