95 yj axle woes by [email protected]
my new-to-me 95 yj's rear end is loud as hell and has a bent driver side axle. (im guessing hard wheeling and sand/water crossings are to blame) how much work might it be to swap in a whole rear end from an xj ? i hear they are simler/the same.

Bellcrank plastic bushings by [email protected]
Hi all, I'm doing a T-4/5 to T-176 upgrade on my '82 Scrambler, and I noticed that the bellcrank plastic bushings are shattered again. I replaced them less than a year ago, and I've done no serious off-roading, just some very bumpy mountain roads. I've got new polyurethane bushings all round...

TJ 4.0 hestitates and surges - follow up x2 to Independent Mechanics by reboot
'99 TJ 4.0 Auto - within about 3 minutes of a cold start under part throttle (accelerating reasonably to 45 mph) the engine would start to stutter, hesitate and surge. water temperature gage shows the mid mark between cold and 210. when this happens and I open the throttle wide open it makes good...

XJ engine instantly revs out at start up by Glenn[_6_]
Hi all, was trying to be a good brother today doing a major service and repairing the cracked exhaust manifold on my sisters 99XJ. Repairing the exhaust manifold obviously entails taking of the inlet manifold, unplugging all the wires, fuel line off the fuel rail etc. Everything went back together...

electrical problem with a 1996 Cherokee Classic by Bill Sands
One day, 3 things stopped working in my Jeep (none of them critical, obviously): dome light, power locks, radio. I got under and found the blown fuse, and replacement of it immediately blows the next one, so I'm assuming a short in one of the three devices. I can manually lock the doors, live...

High pitched whine and coolant loss = Radiator? by PE Guy
My ’89 Cherokee is constantly running low on coolant but I don’t see any leaks. Also whenever the coolant gets low the Jeep makes a high pitched whine. Anyone care to take a guess at what’s wrong?

cherokee reliability ? by [email protected]
Long story short... got a new hunting dog looking for a Cherokee in the 90-96 range 4x4 6cyl. How reliable are they, is it going to be a giant money sink or fairly reliable. I know all older cars nickel and dime you eventually but will this last a bit if i properly maintain it ?

Toyota Land Cruiser 08 by john
Do you remember how it felt the very first time you engaged cruise control? That momentary sense of no longer being in control, that the car had assumed command? That's how Toyota's new crawl mode in the 2008 Land Cruiser feels at first. You select the function, take your foot off the brake, and...
