(cold) Air Drafts from vents by
Mel P.[_2_]
I know my hood isn't perfectly sealed. But I still get air through the
vents even if I have a blanket and/or a car cover stuffed in the trunk. The
ducts from the blower are connected.
Am I missing something?
tia,

-- a litte more ELECTRICAL/FUSE b'ness -- by
Terry
I had a little thread going here a week or so ago about a situation
involving repeatedly blowing the #11 fuse in a '75 Bus.
The feedback was GREAT and a few people mentioned the hazard lights or
turn indicators as likely candidates for a short. I went out and
turned on the hazard lights and...

009 by
Dennis Wik
I noticed California Imports was offering a replacement for the Bosch
009 for about $40. I did not know other manufactures made an 009 clone
for the vwac.

009 Distributor by
69' Dune Buggy 1600cc
In the bigger bore and stroke engines such as 2000+, 2100+, etc. what
type of distributor advance is needed(type 1 engines)?
The 009 seems to be the "fix-all" however the original 1600's had so
many variation of the timing curve that it only makes sense that larger
size engines would have their own...

009 Distributor question by
[email protected]
I was just reading Ken's Buggy Barn web site in preparation of doing a
tune-up on my VW. I have a 1600 CC type 1 engine with a 009
distributor. I have a couple of questions for my clarity of your
instructions.
Ken, or anyone else who can answer,
I take it that the 32 degrees calculation you did...

009 distributor replacement question by
nowan
Kragen Auto has a distributor with vacuum advance (item # 31908) in their
online catalog. Anyone know if this is a SVDA type? How does one tell if it
is a SVDA? The brand is CARDONE - anyone have experience with one of these?
I have the 009/34PICT3 setup now & am trying to improve the hesitation...

009 DISTRIBUTOR TIMING by
Morgan Anderson
Can someone assist me here. I have a stock 73 Thing with a 1600 dp motor...
I was chatting with a service centre who specializes in aircooled. He said
to time a stock motor with a 009, you set it at 44 degres at 3500
RPM...which will end up being about 15 degrees BTDC static. Can anyone
comfirm...

009 distributor wear. by
VFW
I swear this is the second time I've had a 009 go out on me. Seems the
bushings wear out. I guess they just got old, me too.
The Q. is , what lubes the shaft and I do oil the felt in the middle.
Did I hear that the distributor cap has #3 offset to run cooler?

044 heads vs stock heads on stock size piston/barrels by
Matt S
Hi,
First thanks to all who are helping me with this small project:
In replacing my beetlemex heads ( which have the 3/4 inch plug hole - I
like that) it's been suggested I use 044 heads and I have a few
questions about this
the 044's have larger intake and exhaust 40x35 vs stock ( 35intake,...

1 piece side window kit for Bugs, any issues I should know? by
Barnhart Pinball
I'm picking up a 1-piece side window kit (CIP1.com, Bugpack manufactured)
and installing it into my daughter's 72 Super...anything I should know
before I start taking the doors apart? It talks about using regulators from
a 65-68, but I didn't think that applied to the later models...
Thanks...
