Briggs and Stratton! by John[_28_]
Always preferred to use monograde oil( for no overwhelming reason) for the T3 but its as rare as the proverbial in Aust. Was over at the local Hardware shop and noticed Briggs and Stratton have on the market Monograde 30 SAE high detergency oil for "aircooled 4 stroke motors"! Obviously...

Windscreen rubber trim by John[_28_]
Going to replace the windcreen rubber on the squareback. Don,t have any problems with the process having done quite a few other windows before. Except, for the soft aluminium trim. Anyone know whether I should fit the trim last, after window has been refitted or fit rubber to window, then the...

Swing axle boots by ChrisKlinger
Replaced my boots November of 2012. Just noticed that one is already split at the top. I know I didn't buy bargain-basement. Wish I could remember where I bought 'em! Can anyone recommend who sells boots that last?

Drilling out sump plate holes ACCURATELY by Chris Hiebert
Hi all, I have a 1600 with some bad oil leaks around the studs which hold the sump plate to the bottom of the block. Some of them are quite loose and easily come out with only finger pressure, so I'm thinking I may have to drill/tap the holes out and get stepped studs, hopefully tightening...

Scirocco 16V struts by Bill Leary
Are the struts, especially the front ones, the same for the 8V vs. the 16V Scirocco, 1987? I had some work done on the car a few years ago and the guy doing the work cautioned that a lot of things in the 16V are not the same as the 8V because of the weight and positioning of the 16V engine. It...

Ironic by [email protected][_1_]
Oh and "isn't it ironic" (had to say this since I was just staying next to Alanis Morissette) I also see a thread that states a restoration will cost around $17k. And I still don't hear of any show VW's comming out of burington where I know there are more vw's then anywhere else I've seen on the...

Rotor, without the 12 k-ohms resistance by rvirgin22
... Distributor rotors, without 12,000 ohms resistance 1) The original Bosch rotors, as recommended by VW, I believe had 12,000 ohms, or was it 6,000 ohms of resistance across the contacts... that being from the centre, out to the tip. 2) What I am finding these days (probably from China)...

Yeh, there all like that! by John[_28_]
I look at a few other similar sites to Ramva and its so common to hear someone comment that their "official" Service Manager just says "Yeh, their all like that" in response to some fault and shows them the door. Makes me laugh when after 20 years of having the sticky seatbelt catch on my...
