Carl Rossman
Every thousand or so miles my '91 Golf GL starts to lack acceleration.
It stops advancing around 2500 RPM. It's because my distributor cap
posts and rotor are charring for some reason. I have to get out the
Dremel tool with the wire brush and clean it off then the car runs
great till it charres up...

Rubber or plastic thing that goes round tailgate lock on T25? by
Danny[_3_]
Hello,
Some lovely person has broken into my campervan (Type 25 1985
Watercooled) by smashing the lock on the tailgate. I have replaced
the whole lock but I have found that there is a gap of about 4-5mm
around the lock and the bodywork. I am guessing that there used to be
some kind of round...

Jetta Advice Equested for first time VW purchase by
TCottom
I am looking at a 1987 Jetta Deluxe Diesel 2 door that a guy down the
street is considering selling. Runs good, looks fair, 1.8L 5 speed, 210,000
miles. A/C does not work, windows won't roll up or down, and fan switch
isn't working. Also, for some reason the wipers run constantly??
However, he...

97 Jetta - does it need a new coil? by
Dave Harms
I've had wet weather stalling problems with my '97 Jetta. It's not like
it dies going through a puddle - instead, I'm typically stopped at an
intersection, and the engine does when I let out the clutch and give it
some gas. I crank it repeatedly - for the first few times nothing
happens. Then...

another Jetta with rear disk brakes in the driveway that he hadn't
finished stripping for parts. Doing this conversion...

'92 GTI 16V What's it worth? by
Dave M[_2_]
I just retired this car, at about 250k. Original clutch
finally went. I'm trying to figure out what it's worth, as
is.
Kelly claims a value of about $1,100, in fair condition.
But I'm not sure if that assumes that certain components
have been replaced at some point. Aside from the original...

84 Rabbit fuel pump question by
[email protected]
I have an 84 Rabbit with about 145,000 miles on it.
I'm concerned about the fuel pump since it's so old. I'd like to
replace it but I'm not sure if I have an electrical or mechanical
pump. Or if I have more than one.
The car is a 1.7l, carburetor engine. I think it has a mechanical
fuel pump...
