Pace car scandal by
RS
The Vette pace car for 2006 Daytona 500 will have higher HP than the 43
cars running. What a joke restictor plates are. I hope Jay Leno Laps the
field!

Bad Harmonic Balancer by
Steve Horrillo
I reported in earlier posts that my belts on my '98 C5 were squeaking. I
took it to a friend's shop and he found that the rubber in the harmonic
balancer is all worn and wobbling. He said the belts are old and dry too.
The job is going to cost $679 total, new belts and all. He said it's a 4
hour...

01' Z06 / 02' Z06 Modifications by
Bababooey
Was wondering if anyone here had any tried and proved modification
ideas/advice starting at the low end and working up for both a 01'
Z06 and 02' Z06 Corvettes.
Not sure if there would be difference between the two (since there
were minor changes between the two model years)
Most important is to...

99 C5 - cracked chrome/wheel by
Rufio
(Delurking)
Was out on the road at Xmas & picked up either a cracked R/R wheel - or
just chrome surface crack. Dealer says wheel serial #'s tie to the VIN &
the current wheels were on the vehicle, when it left the factory. BUT the
wheels were NOT chrome at that time & they are now - i.e....

C5 Air Intakes by
Spud
I've seen in the Vette catalogs quite a few air intake systems. You know,
K&N type filters and low retriction tubes and forced air boxes. What type
do you have and did you feel measureable results?
I'm wanting an under $500 system for my '04 ZO6 that requires no cutting,
has the filters inside a...

Latest Corvette Disease - cybernetic implants by
Tom in Missouri
I was out in the Corvette yesterday and saw several others, especially as it
became quitting time and people left work.
Out of the 6 or so I saw, one waved.
The others had been assimilated as evidenced by the cybernetic implants
attaching their hand to their ear area.
I wonder if solid core...
