Sway bar on top tube? by
Bluedc
I am in the process of trying to put 6.5 inch wheels on my 69 Ghia.
The only problem I can see at the moment is that the inside of the rim
rubs on the sway bar clamp.
It is lowered slightly using beam adjusters.
Does anyone know if its possible to mount the sway bar on the top
tube? or has anyone...

Egypt by
John[_28_]
Just spent a week in Cairo/Egypt. I think the worlds production of Pug 504,s
is over there. In Cairo there are still masses of 1600 kombis of all
varieties running around . All with the engine bay cover missing or propped
open for cooling!. Saw one ~1950,s beetle go past, someone had obviously...

Swapping out front beam by
Anthony W
I have a spare 1972 front beam assembly that's in very good shape and
the front end in my 66 Baja is getting loosey goosey. Would there be
any problem just swapping out the later beam for the one in my 66?
I know the wheel bearings are different. Can I put the later bearings
in the 5 bolt...

Has anyone removed the rear wheel bearings from a 1977 Bus rear
suspension? Can you tap out the old bearings or do you need a puller
to get them out?

72 Bus exhaust header leak by
[email protected]
Hello-
My father-in-law, my wife, and I have been in the process of
replacing the engine on my wife's 72 bus. Everything has gone really
well up to this point. We can't seal an exhaust leak between 72
(stock)header & head. The ends of headers were milled but still will
not seal. Plus header...

Red Light, Ignition Off by
[email protected]
This is all unrelated to my first gear shimmys, so I am starting a new
thread. Although I suppose all the shaking and jolting could have
knocked something else loose?
Anyhow, I came out from work today to a dead battery. I hadn't left
anything on, but it was raining all day long here in Ohio and...

You are correct, it's society's fault, we brought it on ourselves.

what a forum should look like by
[email protected][_1_]
this posting is from another forum kind of what the RAMVA was and
should be, but some people here seem to think it should be about me.
I have said many times I'm only here to help and if all the BS stops
about me I will not post anything negitive just helpful tips and VW
related info.
So yes I...

All this Mario bull**** by
Jan Andersson[_4_]
Could you please stop it, it's ridiculous.
You are killing what's left of Ramva with all your "Mario this, Mario
that, Mario is an ass-hat" replies in all the threads. Let it go
already, it's all you who keep posting these meaningless slams who look
stupid.
I am tired of seeing Mario pulled...

You got a muffler on you pneumatic drill? You should have. Really
cuts down on the racket.
McMaster-Carr sells mufflers. See page 334 of their on-line catalog.
Now think GASOLINE.
I want to find out how much gasoline I can flow through one of those
80-micron mufflers if the gas has an 11"...

Any one here tried one and have any feed back they could offer me on the
subject?
These sell for about half the price of the other ignition kits. do they
work OK or are they not worth the money?

Need Radio ? by
Speedy Jim[_2_]
I was scouting around for a nice working radio for my '68 project
Beetle. Didn't have to look original, but must have good reception.
Long and short of it, I came across a seller on eBay who has a
pile of NOS Mitsubishi radios. They have cassette deck, which
kinda dates them. AM/FM *and* a...

So tere I am, my usual lovable self, ****ing & moaning about all these

Shy Posters by
Cletus
This is for you, Mr. Hoover,
The reason why I have been a shy poster is because I have been a VW
idiot for 23 years. I don't wanna be laughed at by all these experts.
It all started in 1984, I got enamored with VW's because a girl I
liked drove a Ghia, rust bucket. My brother and I...

Type-3 brake question by
[email protected]
I have a 1968 type-3 squareback. I recently put on a set of Blizzacks
(excellent snow tires sold by Bridgestone) for this winter. I have
replaced many suspension parts and had a good 4-wheel alignment done.
I also replaced many brake system components, including the flex
lines, front pads and the...
