Remember the old ad that someone did about if Ted Kennedy had driven a
Volkswagen, he would be president today. Here is another one that I
had not seen.

Interstate battery problem - help please by
Jim Ed
Here is the situation.
In the Summer of 2009 we installed an Interstate battery that we got
from Sam's.
In warm or above freezing weather it cranks just fine.
When it is below freezing, sometime the starter makes a little grrr
sound or nothing at all.
On another vehicle with an Interstate...

Mario by
Tricky
Could we (RAMVA) come up with a unified way of dealing with Mario. As
we do for water cooled stuff that isn't wanted here either !
Maybe Jan (King) might have some thoughts ?
anyone else?

zoning. A zoning officer left a note on my door telling me that I can
not have any "inoperable" vehicles.
I have 2 beetles, the first one is ugly but runs. The second beetle
does not have an engine, the front two fenders are...

swing axle nuts - Guru advice appreciated. by
ChrisKlinger
Here's a new one for me; if anyone can tell me WTF, I'd be most
appreciative.
Did the brakes on the Ghia. Replaced rear grease seals, Torqued rear axle
nuts to >215 ft. lbs. Checked and tightened link pins; some slop, planned
rebush for soon.
All's great. Had a little rumble in right rear,...

Help a simpleton with a grease gun by
Mike Rocket J. Squirrel Elliott
I need Dummy's Guide to Using a Grease Gun. Thought this would be
simple, but I am stumped.
The Wonderbus's front end is jacked up in the air, ready to have its
steering bits lubed. The fittings have all been cleaned and are
gleaming. I have a new pneumatic grease...

How long were ACVW's designed to last? by
P.O.W.
10 years. I know they used to award a badge if your engine made it to
100,000 km... 60,000 miles.
and who can afford re-building from the pan up?
