Gear beak in? by
Eric
I finally took the dive and had 4.88s installed in my TJ. I've tried to
figure out the best break-in procedure, but everyone seems to have their own
opinion... and you know what they say about opinions...
So, what do you all recommend? Any of this based on actual experience?
What works best? So...

05 Dual top wiper problem by
Mike
I just picked up an 05 Unlimited dual top and the rear wiper is
scraping the rear brake light plastic. Does anyone know what would
cause this? Do I need to remove the soft top rails? It does not seem
like lowering the top the extra 1/8 inch would do it. I took off the
rear tire and it still...

tire report, Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo by
DougW
P225/75SR15
Well... despite lots of sites praising the grippyness of
these tires I can say for absolute certain: If your after
a performance (mostly on road tire), these are not what you
want.
The sidewalls flex way to much (which is good for wrapping
around rocks and overall comfyness) but sucks...

2001 JGC - coolant change = radiator fan stopping by
nathantw
I was hoping someone can help. I went to get my radiator coolant
changed at a shop and when I came back I knew there was a problem
because my car hood was up. The service guy asked me if I ever had the
engine overheating and I said never. He said well, it's overheating at
it's not our fault. He...

I put on my adjustable upper rear control arms today to get my pinion angle

up, so I gotta lengthen the arms.
Anyways my question is will I be able to do this while the wheels are on the
ground? It was held up today by...

Need advice re. buying a used XJ by
mpitke
Hi all,
I'm thinking of buying a used Jeep Cherokee and needed some advice. I'm
leaning towards a 1997 or later model (airbags and the improved console
would be nice). I needed some advice:
1. I'm primarily concerned about reliability. It won't be a daily driver but
I'd hate to be stranded out in...

transmission neutral coasting by
Robb S via CarKB.com
I like to put my transmission in neutral while I'm coasting down the west
side of Snoqualmie Pass. It's about a five mile coast, then the car slows
down to below 60 MPH when I then shift back into drive. Is this good or bad
for the transmission?

Wrangler 97-05 seatbelts? by

Hello all, I'm looking for a picture of the buckle from a 97-05 Jeep
Wrangler seatbelt. If approximate measurements could accompany the
picture, that would be absolutely outstanding.
I'm trying to get a close match with seatbelts from the now out of
production Rover built Mini Cooper, to see if...

Never Ever a "Delco" (was Head Gaskets) by
Rich Hampel
My "head gasket problem' is now solved. My 86XJ Cherokee (340K mi) has
a 2.8L . I chose the 2.8L because of good fuel economy on long highway
travel. I was in a 'rush' to rebuild 'last time' so I bought a
re-manufactured "Delco" crate engine - to 'save time'. WHAT a
POS!!!!! I repowered the...

Need help recharging the AC on a 97 Jeep Cherokee Sport by
Jeff
Hello all,
Can anyone instruct me or point me to a website that can give me
pointers on recharging the AC system in my Sport? I've read that it
uses the R132a that you can buy just about anywhere. However, I'm not
sure how to do the recharge.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,

2.5L backfires by
Carl Saiyed
The 2.5L in my 89 YJ has been backfiring for a while. When cold, it idles
smooth and runs fine. When hot the idle can drop as low as about 5-600rpms,
but sometimes is smooth. Sometimes it will backfire on deceleration. This is
only usually if you downshift to slow down. The backfiring is pretty...
