Body Work by Bambi by
Jeepster
Two days ago I was heading home from a long nightshift when it finally
happened.... a full sized buck runs out and I nail him doing 110 km/h
I have had several close calls this year all of which I was able to
avoid but this time I didn't have a chance and either did the deer.
It's a good thing I...

Removing Air conditioning and Heater in TJ by
Troy
I've decided to remove the heater and air conditioning in my 01 jeep tj.
It's a project jeep and not my daily driver anymore so I won't need them
anyways. But now I need help planning out how to do it. I have removed a/c
from an s10 before, and removed the compressor pump, and there was an...

opinions on cheap, older, high-miles Cherokees by
Handywired
I need a good family camping/skiing/adventure rig. My TJ has been good enough
to me that I am considering a Cherokee even though they have a terrible
reliability rating (but then, so does the TJ and mine has been great). I see
decent ones from the mid-90's for as cheap as $3000 or so; considering...

incremental lift or all at once? by
[email protected]
Ok, so I recently traded in my 02 TJ sport for an 04 unlimited (more
room for my 7 week old child & safety seat). I've got 31's on it right
now and will eventually be going larger.
I'd like to put a 2" for now, as my wheeling habits and skills are
still growing. Eventually, I'd like to go 4" w...

Monster Sound System? by
[email protected]
Has anyone ever put a MONSTER sound system into an XJ? By "monster" I
mean like amp under the back seat with new speakers where ever they can
fit. Probably replace exhisting speakers with better performing ones. I
was even thinking about mounting a sub woofer inside the spare tire. I
love the stock...

Detroit in CJ by
Greg
Just had my CJ7 out for first time with detroit in the rear, I had no idea
it would make that much difference, it makes about twice as much difference
as going from a two wheel drive to a 4 wheel drive, or in other words it is
about 4 times more capable.
And for Mike, only a little snow here, but I...

Thanks for the "Assprint" removal suggestions. After a week with the flu I
was able to just push the dent out. Clementine's hood looks great!

Strange? Question... by
[email protected]
OK, it's just a question.
Has anyone tried waxing their windshield?
The reason I ask is because I remember hearing somewhere that this may
help with the pitting. My windshield looks like it's been sandblasted
(escpecially driving in to the sun) and I figure I'll try almost
anything before I buy...

ABS vs Part-Time 4x4 ? by
Jim Y.
I've got a Jeep Grand Cherokee and this issue of anti-lock brakes
functionality came up with regards to the use of Part-Time 4x4 in snowy
weather.
We know how Part-Time mode operates on the four wheels. Given that, how
does this affect a vehicle with anti-lock brakes, since ABS monitors...

My YJ needs front speakers... Select Increments Centra Pod? by
BassClefJeeper
Hey, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Select
Increments Centra Pod for YJs? I found them at www.4wd.com.
I have a '95 YJ, and the only speakers that work are the soundbar
overhead speakers. I don't really want to mess with the dash speakers,
since I could never hear any...

2000TJ NV3550 not synch'd by
Marc Masnor
Long story on the PowerTrax (another thread, same TJ) and this thread is
essentially at an end.
The Jeep Dealer rebuilt the transmission a third time and the sync problem
was as bad or worse than ever. The Chrylser shop and the shop that put in
the PowerTrax thought that removing the PowerTrax...

how to disassemble cherokee doors? by
Jo Bo
I can help on removing the door panles. First there's two screws in the arm
rest. Remove them. Then there's 3 screws in the chrome/plastic part around
the door lock, remove them. Now it gets fun. Pull out on the bottom of the
door panel and the plastic clips will pop out. They go along the sides...

Buying Rubicon - 2004 or 2005 by
alan
I'm thinking of buying a Rubicon. I don't like shopping so I don't
plan on talking to a salesman until I decide what to buy.
What are the changes between the 2004 and 2005 Rubicon? I've looked
on the net but can't find much. The reviews list features but don't
say if they are new or the same. ...

steering problem by
backwoods
I had a new lock cylinder put into my steering column in my 88
Comanche. To do this the mechanic had to remove the wheel to get
inside the column. After 1 hour , i picked up the vehicle and the
wheel is moved 2" left (center = left 2"). As well the steering feels
jerky/unusually tight. I have...
