The engine management light has recently come on in my 2002 year 1.8T passat. Can anybody recommend any Software or OBD scanner which works with the 2002 passat. All diagnostics Software listed on Ebay only appear to cover models upto 2001. Any advice greatly appreciated, Sukhi.

Water drained out. What damage? by ukdodger via CarKB.com
Hi, The bottom hose on my 1985 Passat came off the rad connection (my fault for not securing it properly) with the result that all the freakin water drained out. I got about two miles in slow moving traffic with the revs slowly increasing and the engine starting to knock. Eventually I...

I just completed installing a rebuilt cylinder head, timing belt, and tensioner, in my 78 VW Rabbit Diesel. The engine turns over, but will not start. It looks like a fuel delivery problem because there is no smoke, or fuel smell. According to the Bentley manual, the fuel system is self...

Radio doesn't look right in '85 Jetta by Fred Mau
A couple (well, three actually) questions regarding radio installation in an '85 Jetta: First, I currently have a VW "Premium Audio" from I think a '92 or so installed. It works fine and fits, but just doesn't "look" right - I would've expected the front of the radio to be maybe flush with the...

2000 Passat GLX sedan (B5) Climatronic problem by Arthur Russell
Owned the car since new. I was never impressed by the automatic climate control system, but it did the job. It does look nice too. However, as time's gone by, it is starting to get pretty temperamental. I try to defend the thing to my wife (she's the primary driver) but she's about had it with the...

020 Transmission Gear Ratios by doogie
I am driving a 1992 Diesel Golf and have often wondered why my fuel consumption is worse than the 1985 I drove previously (~10%). It finally dawned on me that it must be in the tranmission gear ratios. I compared the transmission codes and found that they are different. However, the information...
