check engine light on Ford Ranger by
Ropert's Aloha
I have a 95 4cyl,5spd Ford Ranger with 89k miles and the Check Engine light
has come on. The truck runs perfect. What could set off the light? I have a
Haynes book, but they make it sound like for a 95 and on, I won't be able to
check the codes without a scan tool. In fact I can't even find the...

Different types of crankshaft radius - what's the (dis)advantage? by
mahi
I was looking at various models of crankshafts and noticed there are 3
different types of implementing a radius. My technical English isn't
very good, so I made an image that clearly shows the 3 different types:

Number 1 is probably the most used...

96 Cavalier transmission question by
[email protected]
Greetings all,
I have a 96 Chevy Cavalier that is giving a grinding (almost, but
best I can discribe) noise when turning right. My first thought was
something rubbing (kind of what it sounds like), but this is not the
case as far as I can tell (almost positive it is not). Next thought was
drive...

"Full Synthetics" by
Rudy Hiebert
It may come as a shock to some but "Full" is not the same as "100%".
The brands that have that on the lable want to make you get the
impression that it is. It's not illegal because there is no rule that
says anything about a minimum amount of synthetics before it's called
"Full".

Radiator fan switch on 98 Chrysler T&C keeps failing by
[email protected]
This is a continuation of a previous post a few years ago. I have a 98
Chrysler Town & Country with a 3.8 L engine. The solid state relay that
controls the radiator fans is mounted on the driver side wheel well. I
am replacing this relay for the 4th time and getting tired of spending
$70+ for the...

Honda Accord Wiper travel by
Sat
Hi folks,
I have a Honda Accord 1997 4dr sedan and am looking for help with
adjusting the travel of my wiper arm. It currently goes off the
windshield and hits the top part to the hood every time for every
sweep. Can this be adjusted? Or, do I have to replace some part? Any
help would be greatly...

Whistling/Squeal Sound From Back Wheel at Freeway Speeds by
[email protected]
Hello,
I have a Toyota Tacoma (2x4) truck. Just recently, I noticed that
when I'm driving at freeway speeds (over about 50 mph), I can hear a
high pitched squeal (whistle?) sound coming from the right rear wheel
area.
The funny part is that I hear this most when I let up (or take my foot
off...

Fair Price to Repair Camry Power Steering by

My brother had a recent problems with Camry power steering. I don't
know all details, but it seems that he noticed leakage from the car
that apparently came from PS pump. It was Sunday and the only place he
could find to work on it was a local tire store (in Marietta GA). His
son needed the car...
