bad times for Jan and Kidd by
Jan Andersson[_4_]
Hi guys.
I am disappointed and endlessly saddened to report that my marriage
seems to have come to an end. Kidd and I have gone through some tough
times economically and other external influences like the athmosphere at
my work has caused both of us to close up and get depressed. Somewhere...

What is a Good Synthetic Oil to Use? by
Jim Ed
I want to start using synthetic oil in my 1973 VW Beetle's T-1 engine.
What about Castrol 5 W50 for Summer time or would Quaker State be
better?

Swing Axel adjustment by
Jerry - OHIO
I have a 74 Rupp Centaur with a 67/68 swing & 1500. The fiber glass body
is lighter than the bug was so the rear wheels slant in at the
bottom. What would be the easiest way to level this thing ?
When I relax the torsion bars how do you know how many splines to jump ?
Or is it by trial and error.I...

[email protected]
I wonder how that would work out ?
Would it be able to run continously for days or possible weeks at a
time ?
After this latest ice storm I've decided I need some kind of generator
that can power
the entire farm for extend periods. We were able to power the house
but not the
well pump, electric...

OT Another good day to live by
Shag
Whoooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! What a rush!!!!! Decided to ride the bike
in to work again today and it was almost my last trip. I stopped on
Six Forks Road heading north to wait for oncoming southbound traffic

looking for obsolete part by
Vicki
Hi RAMVA!
This is my first post here. I have been lurking for about a month now, and
I have to say that I'm quite impressed with the knowledge, and wit, that
I've found here! Even the few ignorant posters have had a very high
entertainment value. I am hooked like a junkie!
Now, on to the reason...

#3 retard on Distributor cam by
Peter
Anyone have any good information on this? I would like some input on why it
was necessary, what engines it was used on and over what period of time.
Thanks.

First engine pull by
Remco
Hi Guys
Well, I got around to pulling the engine out of a 75 bug given to us
last month -- was waiting for a nice day and yesterday was it. Amazing
how easy that is! The hardest part is documenting the connections (it
is a FI model).
Jan Anderson's trick of sliding the engine out the side seems so...

1970 'vert for sale in Northern Virginia by

I bought it in the fall of 2002. I've been sick and I need to pay some
bills. Here's a picture of it from then:
http://members.cox.net/ranny9/
Since then, one headlight ring and the bumpers have rusted and it needs
a new paint job, but I just put $2800 into it, getting the heater
channels...

A while back I asked how to remove the needle bearings that are in the tubes
of the front axle in a Bug. Someone told me that he just pushed them deeper
into the tube and inserted new ones in front of them. Well who ever told me
that must have a different beam than I do. there is a stop behind...

Should air cooled VWs be banned from the Freeways? by
[email protected]
I believe Air-Cooled VeeDubs need to be banned from freeways or any
place where the speed limit is 65 mph and above for that matter.
These cars don't belong on limited access highways. As logic dictates
their engines are too inadequate for high speed use plus they aren't
safe when drivin fast...

Where Have All the Flowers Gone? by

According to Pete Seeger, young girls have picked them. Every one.
Which is kinda like whats happened with air cooled Volkswagens.

Toyota and gotten on with...
