Stephen Wright
I would appreciate any help that someone could give me. I have a
persistent problem with my "94 Golf III. It will regularly stumble
when I try to accelerate, but will smooth out if I back off. It runs
well when I get it to speed and the stumbling is not awful, but It
just doesn't seem right.
The...

Got low on oil -- should I be worried? by
dwhsix
Our 2000 Passat V6 wagon got low on oil yesterday--the engine oil
pressure light came on, we immediately stopped, it took about 3 qts,
then it was fine. No other warning lights came on.
Since the engine holds 5.7 qts, that means it might have been halfway
down on oil. I'm going to take it in to...

88 rocco 16V Broken valve springs by
Regal953
Hi fellas, like Chuck diagnosed it, I found the rear exhaust valve to
have both inner and outer springs broken> I was able to buy the outer
spring but the inner is out of stock from Beck Arnley and Worldpac. I
have a 2 valve cylinder head somewhere in the garage, and I was thinking
to take...

Source for strut/spring 88 Cabbie. by
PeterD
I need new springs for my 88 Cabbie, (in the USA) and the local parts
store doesn't have a listing.
So I'm looking for either a cross-reference (say an 83 Jetta for
example?) or an online source that is good to deal with.
I think the basic struts are OK (they are neither expensive, or hard
to...

EPC + ASR = WTF? by
Bert Hyman
I have an '02 Passat GLS wagon with the 1.8T engine.
Driving home from work this afternoon, just as I got off the freeway and
slowed to 35MPH or so, the EPC and ASR lights came on. Engine speed
dropped to about 1000RPM and would not respond to the throttle. I was
just able to limp to the curb...

Help. Looking for tips on where to mount fog lights 90 Golf by
tonyw
Hi,
I have an old pair of Cibie 95 fog lights I'd like to mount on my
'90 Golf. I've scouted out possible mounting locations and the best
compromise seems to be to drill a couple of holes on top of the
bumper. The motor vehicle regulations in British Columbia require fog
lights to be "below the...

Strut Assembly question? by
Tube Audio[_2_]
I have a 1984 Rabbit GTI
Two questions, is there a washer required under the big nut at the top of
the strut shaft.
Is there another washer ( smaller then the washer above) that goes at the
bottom of the threads of the strut shaft. This is the location on the
bottom side of the strut...

88 rocco:No compression cyl#4!?? by
Regal953
Maybe Dave has an idea, engine was running fine, all of a sudden I feel
a heavy miss after hearing lifter-like tapping noise. Pulled plugs and
compression is zero in cyl # 4. What could have caused valves to stick
open? Cyls 1,2,3 are fine at 170psig. Timing belt is fine in synch. ???
