Fuel starvation?? by
Rick[_11_]
89 Jetta 16v - Once the fuel tank drains to just under half tank, the
fuel pump starts to whine (main pump). I can hear the pitch of the
whine change as I apply the brakes at a stop light indicating the fuel
is sloshing around and hitting the pick-up of the in tank pump. The
main pump really starts...

Hello I have a question for you. Okay so my car is the one that has
the power locks but not the windows except for the sunroof. The other
day my driver side door lock stopped working. Meaning I can put the
key in I can turn it left and right and nothing is happening. Before
it would unlock and lock...

Ebay rant by
none2u
I bought a Bosch diesel injector pump seal kit on there Dec 13th. The
seller doesn't have shipping insurance available. Apparently the post
office delivered it somewhere last month around the 17th. .But they don't
track where they deliver too. Just that they did deliver it somewhere. They...

Hey dave AKA vwdoc1, what is with all the html posts? by
Jim Behning[_1_]
In the past few weeks your new newsgroup client has been posting a
bunch of htlm that you used to not do. If there was a group geek about
he or she might whine about it. It makes it hard to find out what you
think when it is buried in that html. I hope I did not stir the top
posting giant.

Do modern VWs have conventional thermostats? by
Bert Hyman
Is the cooling system thermostat in my '02 Passat's 1.8T engine a
traditional mechanical thermostat, complete with wax and springs and
everything, or is everything under control of the engine management
computer?
Since we've finally gotten some cold weather, I notice that the engine
is slower to...

passenger side mirror for Rabbit by
Chuck[_8_]
I have a 1980 Rabbit (Westmoreland - American), and have for quite
some time been trying to find a suitable passenger side mirror for the
vehicle. I did find one some years ago, but this ~$10 mirror was
fairly small and would also fold up on the highway or against
headwinds, requiring frequent...

88 Fox update by
Dioclese
In regards to the coolant temp sensor in prior posts...
I confused the thermo-time switch with the coolant temp sensor when I made
resistance readings. First is on top of the coolant port, latter is on
bottom. That is why the replacement coolant temp sensor did not fit the
port and looked much...

Water drained out. What damage? by
ukdodger via CarKB.com
Hi, The bottom hose on my 1985 Passat came off the rad connection (my fault
for not securing it properly) with the result that all the freakin water
drained out. I got about two miles in slow moving traffic with the revs
slowly increasing and the engine starting to knock. Eventually I...

rabbit update by
Chris[_18_]
Hello to all,
I am writing to say thanks again to everyone who helped me out with my
water pump pulley (see hard to find parts), as well as give a bit of
an update on my 83 rabbit. I did manage to find the pulley, cost me
around 45.00 and installed perfectly. I also managed to get the
timing belt...

It will start and run fine but after it is shut down it will not start
and you can smell fuel. Wait a few hours and it will start again.
Any help would be appreciated.

Went and second looked a rabbit today. by
none2u
I had to get a dealer part today. So I took a look at a Rabbit again.
Available was a 2008 Rabbit S 4 door hatch. Stick, red , standard
equipment, Same as a Golf S would of been. It is $18,150. The dealer had
to trade the one I looked at to get it . Because VW wont send enough cars.

nasty short circuit by
Eyal
Hello
I just finished overhauling my Passat 1781cc model 1993. After some
good days of work finally all was set in place. Running the starer, to
fill more oil, without the plugs and without the distributor sensor
connector, my colleagues near the car said that there is some sparks
near the cable...

Hello everyone,
I know there must be some rabbit fanatics out there who hopefully will
help me out. I am looking for a water pump pulley for my 83 rabbit.
Apparently this is hard to come by and I am not having very much luck
and getting frustrated in the meantime. Does anyone here have any
good...
