Plugged fuel line problem by
P.O.W.
twice my ACVW has come to a halt. both times it seems the fuel line was
plugged, what is going on here?
and just blowing back , by mouth , was too hard. A compressor did it.
if this ever happens again, could reversing the fuel pump hoses blow
out the line.? what would be a good road side...

Generator belt size by
Michael Cecil
I busted my generator belt on the way home in the pouring down rain today.
I noticed the gen light after a moment (after the idiotic thought of just
driving the short distance home without a belt flashed through my head)
and pulled over to replace it.
I usually carry a couple spare belts so I...

Fuel smell by
YMC
Hi,
I've got a 1641cc engine - pretty fast Beetle - but lately its starting to
smell of petrol esp. after I reved it hard.
I undid the fuel lines and screwed the clampers on again - and that seemed
to help.
But can I replace them with something better than the original rubber hose
and...

Bob, a question on the HVX mods by
Jan Andersson
I was once again reading about the HVX mods on your blog site,
http://bobhooversblog.blogspot.com/2007/05/hvx-mods.html
And I remembered a question I meant to ask you long ago. It has become
relevant in another discussion so I wanted to get some clarification.
Regarding the grooving of the...

34PICT3 question by
Bill[_3_]
Hey all:
I've been fiddling with my carb and everything works fine except when
I go to adjust the quantity on the accel. pump arm up to full, it
seems that the additional stroke length is just slack and that the
spring in the diaphram is not coming all the way back to actually give
a full stroke....

Repair twisted off running board bolts? by
Chuck[_9_]
My 70 beetle's running boards were falling off. Got a new pair then
discovered several bolts were either twisted off or the nuts were gone,
leaving ~5 X 10 mm slot.
I don't see a way of getting a nut started on the inside, n haven't found
any repair kits.
Got a fix? I'm not above drilling...

ideas for a '61 beetle by
envirogisgirl
Howdy,
I've been a member on here for a year or 2, but have been a tad shy
regarding posting.
Here's the deal. I have a 1961 vw beetle. I bought it from the
original owner in 1989. In between now & then; it has been a daily,
stored in San Diego, back to being a daily while I was at TAMU. ...

OT New updated pics of my shop by
Shag
We had some really nice weather this weekend so I pulled the tarps off
of the shop and got back to work. Got all of the fascia boards up,
got the drip edge up all the way around it, and got half of the tar
paper and shingles up there. Put the tarp back on the back half of
the shop to wait for...

wood panels and dash by
tbacer
Has anyone every tried to use wood for the door panels and dash.
Eventually my 72 beetle will be black and I thought that a dark cherry
toned wood interior with chrome and black accents would be cool. My
guess is it would have to be some laminate type of stuff due to the
weather changes from...

Brake problem on 74 Super. by

Hi All,
I have probably the worlds only VW beelte snowplow, we call it the
"PlowBug". Its now in its 11th year of snowplow service on my acreage,
and it continually amazes me and my neighbors as to how durable this
thing is, and how well its heated (thanks Eberspacher), and how I
rarely have...
