85 Amp Alternator by
[email protected]
How do you tell if a Grand Wagoneer (AMC 360) has an 85 Amp Alternator
or not? I can find no data plate on the alternator, but this is how
the parts store determines which belts are correct.

Stripped Pressure Plate Bolt by
Jo Baggs[_3_]
Ok,
so I over torqued a clutch pressure plate bolt and I think I stripped it in
the flywheel. The bolt isn't coming out and I cant turn the bolt by hand.
The other four bolts are seated very nice. So...can I leave it alone?

2004 Jeep Cherokee turn signal flasher by
[email protected]
I am trying to replace the turn signal flasher, which is located in
the fuse panel under the left side dash. I cannot reach the flasher,
although I can see it. I'm trying to remove the fuse panel so I can
get my hands on it. No luck so far. Any ideas? Thanks!

Starter Shims by
Jo Baggs[_3_]
1977 CJ5 w/ 304. I replaced the ring gear from the previous post (Chewed up
Flywheel). I bought a new starter as the old starter gear looked a little
worn on the front of the gear. How do I know if the starter is aligned
correctly to prevent this from happening again? People talk about it...

Engine Problem/ 2000 JGC by
James[_3_]
I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4.7 liter engine. 198,000 miles.
Engine has been literally perfect to now.
In the last week, engine has stalled three times, at very slow idle, or very
low speed. I have then noticed that all of a sudden, it is sluggish to
start. Engine turns over real...

Anyone in Northern VA - Jeep smelled of carbon monoxide by
Mike
My Jeep Cherokee Sport 2000 (115,000+) smelled of carbon monoxide.
I used to go to Henricks Jeep on Route 1 before they merged with
Lustine across, also at Jeep Rosenthal by N. Glebe Rd.
Can anyone recommend a Jeep mechanic?
Thanks
Mike

Four posts to ABPA.
Not very admirable, and not very good for you.
You'd better wise up in a hurry, the clock is ticking away.

Oil Filter Mystery Solved by
[email protected]
I really hate to tell a story where the undersigned comes off looking
like a complete fool, but in the event that this tale may save some
other poor soul the expense and embarrassment I suffered, here it is:
Apparently Jeep changed oil filter mount specifications in mid-model
year in 1987, and I...

Fog Lights Replacement by

The fog lamps are gone from my 1987 Grand Wagoneer. As I cannot
locate a source for the old Wolf brand fog lamps, what can anyone
recommend for a replacement? My wiring plugs and brackets are in
place.

GW HEadliner by

Has anyone ever found a trick or fix for the sagging Grand Wagoneer
headliners? They bag down on cold moist mornings, and *sort of*
tighten back up again when dry. I do not know how they were originally
fastened to the cabin ceiling, but whatever method was used, it
doesn't last. I've had this...

Wagoneer Rear Window Defogger by
[email protected]
Do Rear Window Defoggers ever work? I have had Jeep Wagoneers,
Mercedes and VWs, and with the exception of those I have driven home
new from the dealer, have never had a rear window defogger work.
What is the common problem of Wagoneer rear window defogger failure,
and what is the best fix?

Oil Filter Variance by
[email protected]
In the course of changing oil on my 1987 Grand Wagoneer, I discovered
that I could not get the new proper oil filter to thread onto the
mount. After a dozen attempts and a meteoric rise in blood pressure,
I gave up. After cogitating on it, I looked at the OLD filter, a POS
FRAM filter, and called...

87 Wagoneer Mystery Switch by

Can someone please tell me what the switch is for that is inside
(toward steering column) of the right-side air vent handle? My
earlier Wagoneers have all been 1984 models, and were not equipped
with this switch.
