marx404
For the do it yourselfers just fyi, my local Discount Auto Parts just told
me that they will be soon carrying the oil cartridges for the ecotec /
Saturns. Does anybody know of other places where one can also buy these
cartridges? Also any online places? Thanks.

Headlight placement by

Why are Saturn headlights placed nearer to the car centerline rather than in
the conventional location (i.e., spanning the width of the car)?

Suspension upgrade to save my tires (SL1) by
Frank
I am considering multiple suspension upgrades to reduce the excessive
wear on my tires. My 97 SL1 is stock (and yes, properly aligned) and
went through, Yokohama Avid T4 in 9,000Mi (alignment and suspension
items check before and after) and chewed 6/32" off the new V rated BF
Goodrich Traction T/A...

Blaupunkt Phoenix & 2000 SL1 by
Dean S. Lautermilch©²ºº³
Today I went to dealer in Fort Lauderdale for a new radio. My 2000 SL1 is
about to hit 100K without any problems and I plan to keep it for a while. I
wanted to get a stereo that can play MP3s and after looking at the
selection, I chose a Blaupunkt Phoenix. The radio and installation were

1993 SL1 Check Engine Code by
Gary Compton
I'm getting an intermittant check engine light and would like advice on
figuring out what it means. Is there an inexpensive tool that will read the
code? A list of code available on the web? The car is running fine.

Saturn VUE 2004 by
Rusty Shackleford
Mike, I have a new 2004 Vue AWD Redline with the 3.5L V6. MY engine does
not sound like a diesel when it is idling but it does have kind of a throaty
exhaust sound, but smooth if you know what I am trying to say. If you
engine is not shaking while it is idling then I think it is ok. My...

What happended to the 200 series? by
Steph
Just discovered that Saturn no longer offers the LW-200.
Any links to press mentioning this? Sort of tanks my re-sale value.
I have a 2001 LW-200 with the standard transmission and Leather. WE love
it, but kinda sucks being one of the only ones out there with such a car
(for maintenance).

Massive Black Dot Problem by
Jennifer
I've got a white SL-2 with tons of black dots all over it - I thought
tree sap; my mechanic thinks bug juice from gypsy moths last year.
Our cars are parked under trees outside our house, and there is no way
not to have them under trees where we are.
We've researched and tried many products (well,...

Valve cover leaking oil by
marx404
I just noticed that one of the top 3 bolts in the center of my valve cover
is permeating oil around the edge of the bolt. It is so minimal that it is
hardly noticeable. Everything else is bone-dry. I just had the valve cover
gasket replaced last year, is this normal?
I have a 94 SL2 with 90K...

Saturns Suck! by
Dennis Hamilton
I bought a 94 Saturn SL1. At 35,000 miles the alternator went out. At
60,000 miles that transmission went. Saturn graciously agreed that their
transmission should last for more than 60,000 miles and replaced the tranny
($600) if I paid the labor ($800). Less than 60,000 miles later the...

Staurn to tell them that I was looking for the other connector and the reply

As per the suggestion, I popped the hood this morning, took one look at the
coolant tank and discovered the problem...at the last oil change, they'd
forgotten to put the cap back on the coolant tank. Fortunately it was still
sitting on the engine block where they'd left it. Next oil change I'll...

2003 VUE Roof Rails by
Dan Gimon
VUE owners are probably familiar with the black plastic roof trim
pieces that run the length of the roof along the left and right sides.
These are held on by TORX bolts recessed down into "wells" in the the rails.
Well these "wells" fill up with water and in cold climates such as mine
(Ontario,...
