engine heaters for TDI-PD? by Achim Nolcken Lohse
Our 2004 Golf TDI-PD came without any engine heater, unlike the 2002 Golf TDI, which was dealer-equipped with an oil pan heater. I checked yesterday with the nearest VW dealership (Cranbrook, BC), and was told the VW factory oil pan heaters are expected soon, but no ETA or set price. He guessed...

Reasons for rattles in my 2003 Golf? by Tom Levigne
VW dealer said workers are smart enough to glue wires in place that run above the headliner on cars that are made in Germany so they don't rattle but Brazilians and Mexicans don't care about this or understand why its important so its not done. Has anybody else heard this?

What to buy? by Howard R Garner
It is time to replace the 93 Cabriolet that I am now driving. I am looking at a used Cabrio or possible a new Golf GLS TDI. Any advice as to what to look out for in the used market? Are the Golf 2005 models much of an improvement of the 2004s? I have had Rabiit diesel before. Howard R Garner

94 Jetta XM into factory radio by DriveSpy
I would like to install XM radio in my car. I want a direct audio hookup (no FM modulator or cassette adapter) if possible. I have the factory Premium Audio AM/FM/Cassette/CD radio but do not have the CD changer installed. I figure the radio must have an auxilary audio input that I could...

92 Passat Rumblings by Tavish Muldoon
Hello, Here we go again - problems with the 92 Passat CL. At stops or low speeds sometimes the car rumbles or trembles. The tack does not move too much. It is an automatic - so I put it into neutral at stops - it still rumbles but less. Accelerating it seems to stumble - almost seem like it is...

"Burp" InThe Brake System by Valjean
This happens when going down hill in particular; it's accompanied by an apparent loss of brake pressure so that the pedal drops and I'm left feeling (albeit briefly) like it's all up to me... This is on a 2002 Eurovan with ABS.

Was there EVER a 4Motion Jetta available in Canada? by Rob Guenther
Hi I'm having a small debate at home... My father claims that the Jetta VR6, with automatic transmission that is sitting on his shop-floor (the car is in storage for the owner of the company he works for) is equipped with a 4Motion system. There is no badging to indicate this as far as I can...

Passat better value than Golf/Jetta? by mkl
Hello thereŠ I was thinking about a "new" car and was wondering if I should get a Passat over a GolfŠ? I have done a quick survey on autotrader and automart and it seems Passats might be a little less money but they are probably less economical than a golf as they must be heavier? Does anyone...

Pinging on a Passat? by Ron /Champ 6
Today I definitely heard pinging on acceleration in 2nd and 3rd in my 95 Passat VR6. I've never heard that before. ( 120,000 miles, 5 speed, always cheaped out and used regular grade fuel) Maybe it is a bad tank of gas, but the 1st 2/3 of the tank was OK, or maybe I just missed hearing it. Any...
